  1. My blood pressure tends to drop that low or a little lower every night. Sometimes I feel awful...dizzy, tingling extremities, pounding headache. Other times it doesn't bother me. The only thing that helps it is standing up and moving around. My BP will generally rise immediately with standing. It seems like a lot of other people have the opposite problem and their BP drops when they stand. My Dr doesn't seem concerned that it drops that low though, but it's probably worth mentioning to your Dr if it continues. I also take a beta blocker.
  2. My Dr prescribed me NA tabs to take. Right now I only take a 1mg tab at bedtime(my bp drops low while I sleep), but I can take two a day. These can be kinda rough on your stomach though and might not be right for everyone. Otherwise, I try snacking on pretzels, chips, or saltines with peanut butter. Also, canned vegetables or soups. You mentioned you like soy sauce...I've actually just added it to different foods like rice as an alternative to just adding salt to my food all the time.
  3. I can go from good to bad pretty fast sometimes, too. It seems to be brought on from stress. Even the smallest amount of stress can make me go from feeling pretty good to dizzy, fatigued, and just feeling "off". This doesn't always happen when I'm stressed, but it does enough to be a real annoyance. I do get that flu like feeling too- achy, extreme fatigue, etc.
  4. Hi franziska, I'm also newly diagnosed and it can definitely be overwhelming. I've found these forums to have a lot of great information. I have a family member with POTS as well, so I did go into this with a little knowledge. However, I'm learning that what works well for one person might not work for another. My dad and I have many different symptoms and require different treatments. My Neuro just referred me to a cardiac rehab program that is going to help develop an exercise plan suited for me. I'm excited to try this because like you mentioned it's important to find excercises we can tolerate. Also, like others have mentioned, drinking enough fluids is very helpful. Getting enough sleep seems to help too. Hope this helps some!
  5. I take 60mg 3x's a day for a total of 180mg. I do remember my Dr mentioning to me that many people need to take at least that much to notice a difference and some need to take an even higher dose. I haven't been on it too long and haven't noticed too much of a difference yet, but am willing to see what happens. (Like you, I have a hard time remembering that third dose though!) Also, BID means twice a day for those wondering.
  6. I experience ear fullness often, especially with migraines. Sometimes it will get worse in one ear and reminds me of having water in my ear, like after swimming. That's a really strange feeling, so luckily it doesn't last long when it does happen. I've noticed my dizziness generally seems worse when I have the ear pressure and its there whether I'm standing or sitting.
  7. I was recently diagnosed with POTS. I experience something similar, but not exactly the same. I will suddenly wake from sleep with extreme dizziness. I'm often sweating, but don't have chest pain or the stomach issues. My extremities are really heavy and tingling. My bp is usually 84/46 with a pulse of 46-60. I have to make myself stand to raise my bp to a normal range(and unfortunately my pulse spikes too high). Once I lay back down it starts all over again. Have you checked what your bp or hr are at when this happens? I hope you can find some answers.
