  1. Thank you so much for the responses! I'll dig into this a bit more. I get the feeling they'd be so much happier if we didn't send him back to school at all this year but I'm not willing to give in that much. Even if he goes only occasionally, as he is able, I want that to be an option for him.
  2. Has anyone had to provide their school with a signed release waiving all liability with regard to falls? My son's private school called us yesterday and requested a that we provide and sign a release removing all liability should he fall while at school (he was recently diagnosed with POTS). We are being told there is a policy which prohibits teachers from helping a child up and instead requires that they call 911 any time a child falls. We've been sending him to school in a wheelchair (though just for a few hours at a time and he's only been able to attend a couple of times since the new year) so the worst that happens thus far is that he slumps over in his chair. But of course falls are quite likely during trips to the bathroom, etc. Just curious as to how normal this is to require a release and especially that we are being asked to draft and provide it, not just sign. I feel as if I need to get legal counsel (good thing I work at a law firm). Thanks for any insight or experiences you can provide. I know he's not able to attend school regularly right now but I really don't want this to get in the way on the days he can attend, even briefly. Leah husband diagnosed with POTS at age 9, later diagnosed with MSA but then modified as his health improved! son, recently diagnosed with POTS at age 11
