  1. I just got over a stomache bug.. My heart was all over the place......That coupled with Lyme flares when I am sick can be very challenging..... I forgot to add that for me extra fluids do help. I get home IV when I am ill...if nto for that I do not think I could adequately hydrate...and it helps my body fight the big much better,...... I would drink as much as possible Feel better!
  2. Congratulations Ling!! You give me hope that I might be able to do it too one day... I wish you an uneventful rest of your pregnancy!
  3. I take Jiuce plus caps... They basically give you all the nurtrition of 12 different fruits and veggies a day..... I find these have worked better for me b.c they are a whole food and my body absorbs them better. Although I know we all have different tolerance levels... If anyone is interested I believe its www.juiceplus.com
  4. Hi Jan - Thank you so much for your response...... Yes I do agree that we have to give these druga a fair shake to really see if they help... I guess when it comes to a med like mestinon I get scared b.c it is a pretty "heavy duty" drug as far as my drug regimn goes.... I think you just gave me the courage to give it the shot it needs..... Dr Grubb wants me tp at least try it...if not he wants to go to the procrit but it will be a battle to get that approved....... again thanks for explaining your sympotms for me.... Keep us posted! It helps to hear from people that are going through what I am going through....
  5. I havent started the mestinon yet b/c I have been dealing with a stomache bug for the last week or so... I am really having second thoughts about it... It just seems everyone is having weakness, twitching, vivid dreams, headaches etc.... I'm just not sure what to do......
  6. Autonomic Neuropathy and dysautonomia are basically the same.... Dr's use different terminology for it..... Some call is vasovagal syncope etc.....
  7. I've only heard of premedicating for MVP... I have had MVP diagnosed since I was 14..... It is essential to premedicate for dental procedures if you have MVP...... If not, Bacteria can possibly collect on the Mitral Valve making those candidates for a valve replacement later in life... Usually your GP or cardiologost will give a standing order for abx for your procedures...
  8. I'm so glad you had such a great appt! I sae Grubb for the first time last year and it was like a weight was lifted off me when I got back from Ohio...he answered all those pizzling questions I had for so long. I go back to him in March...... Anyway I am SO happy you got to see him, I think he is a very special Dr!
  9. I've never fainted either..... I think in my life Ihave faintd 2 times..... I get the tachy problems and hydration issues though
  10. My husband always takes some sort of vacation a year with his friend. He is always reluctant to go and I always reassure him that I am perfectly capable of taking care of situations myself and that there is really nothing I cant handle even when I am not feeling well and that he deserves to go... He usually ends up comming home much sooner than originally planned but at least he will go. I think its very important for spouses to get away by themselves once in a while regardless if one of the partners are sick , so make aure to let him know its OK to go ....... I hope he has a good trip!
  11. Thanks guys! I did a google search and foind that it is in some BC pills but not all of them. I am a little conerned though b/c I have been On Loestrin for 10 years and just read that this particular pill is most commonly given to women over 40 and can cause hormonal problems in younger women... Great! On emore thing to have to check into
  12. Hi Em - I think there could be different reasons for a high WBC count... I do know that Lyme Bacteria LOVE the urinary tract and hang out there thus causing infection of sorts..... I know you have been to a million and 1 dr's but have you ever seen a urologist? They might be able to rule out other possibilities... I hope that one of these Dr's will give you some abx to try.... I am thinking this might help ...its a hunch I hope you are having a good day.
  13. This was dicsussed a couple weeks back on a post and I wanted to bring it up again to see if anyone else has any knowledge or advise about this? I have been on Birth control ( Loestrin) for almost 10 years now.... I just wonder if it is contributing to fluid loss. Any suggestions or experiences would be appeciated..thank guys!!
  14. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMY! Boy I am feeling old now at 34 !! LOL Anyway I wish you a happy healthy year and all the very best to come your way!
  15. More than abything flying dehydrates me. I wear compression hose, drink lots of water with elctromix and take celtic sea sait... I also make sure I move my legs around if I am seated for a while and get up frequentl;y to walk or use the bathroom..... I also travel with an IV line in me and take my IV fluid supplies if I need extra fluid when I get off the plane.... When i travelled to Mayo which was a more extended perios of time, I actually contacted the home infusion company in the area so that they coule set me up to start a line if I needed.... this helped a lot ..... Good Luck to you.... and I hope you have a safe flight
  16. I really hear your frustation on this one. I at 34 years old and would really like to try and have a child at some point but lots of pros and cons to weigh...... I would also mimic that no 2 people or pregancies are alike.... even healthy people cannot count on a smooth pregnancy.... For myself I do have family around me that will help me out if I decide to get pregnant..... I have battled with thoughts of not being an energetic mom like my mom was, or having my child resent me b.c I could not be at their school activities or plays if I got sick. My husband and I have also discussed how it would effect out relationship and the added stress of a child. I just put out the worst case scenarios for myself to see how would I deal with it if it really happened and would we have some back up or preparation for it. I think it is a very personal decision and one that should be talked about very thrououghly and openly with your spouse/partner..... I am still really holding out hope that I can try for a baby at some point..... I have come to the conclusion that for me not trying would be far more hurtful emotionally and physically than having a healthy child and possibly dealing with my illness getting worse.... Although my greatest hope is that this would nto be the case... Anyway sorry for rambling here , but I feel so much for women in my boat..... and I hope that we all will come to the decsion that we feel good about and is right for us. Good Luck to you
  17. I've been fighting a stomache bug since last week and I have been feeling extra POTSY and LYMIE... It is so hard to get extra stuff on top of these things... Get lots of rest, drink LOTS of fluids... BTW are you able to get IV fluids at home?? I know this is always my helper in getting through a bug easier.... I hope you feel better very soon
  18. Have you had an infectious disease workup? There could be lots of reasons why you have had ongoing flu like symptoms since you were young. I was the same was as a kid and as I got older.... For me it turned out to be Lyme Disease..... Feel Better and I would definetly look into it more.
  19. I have to quote what my mother always says: " Life is not a dress rehearsal" If you have truly found love and a wonderful man, you have every right to be happy and live your life. Dont let a physical problem get in the way if your happiness...... Good Luck
  20. There are lots of good natural antifungals put there. Have you thought about consulting with a holistic nutritionist/practioner? They could help you oversee and give you the right dises of whatever antifungal you choose... Grape fruit extract oil of oregano, and caprylic acid are among some of the best. Then there is Diflucan, Sporonax, if you want to take medication. I have had a chronic Sinus problem for a long time now and I have been on many courdes of abx as well as antifungals..... I just got a new GP who has been helping me get my sinuses back in shape... I looked into www.sinucare.com They make specially componuded nasal sprays of abx and antifungals that go directly to where it needs to go. We are going to try this as well as I am on Nasonex a steriod nasal spray that they use for allergies although I am using it differently for sinus... I lay on my stomache over the bed and raise my head....do 2 sprays in ech nastril, then I hang my head over the bed as if I am looking under the bed for something...stay this way for as long as possible. The reason being that the steriod then is able to get up into the frontal sinus cavity where infection usually tgets stuck.... So far I have seen a difference... I'll let you know about the sinuspray as well when I get it. And as I am sure you know check with your Dr if you are going to try any of my suggestions. I hope you feel better soon... I know how aweful it can be.
  21. Thanks Jan! I feel a little better knowing that you both are also starting it as well. Lets keep each other posted on what is happening....... I hope it will help all of us to some extent....
  22. I am about to try Mestinon for the first time tonight. Dr Grubb wants me to start with 1/2 of a 60mg pill 2 times a day and work up to 2 full ones a day. I think I am going to only take a quarter of one though. I am REALLY nervous about trying this med.. I dont like the muscle problems..... Does anyone know if Mestinon can be used only when needed? And also I am wondering if there is some sort of withdrawl if you decide to stop taking it? That is a biggy for me.. I dont want to get on a med that I have to wean off of at some point. Thanks if anyone can help! HAPPY HEALTHY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!
  23. You might want to look into this site and give your GP the info. www.sinucare.com It is a specially compouinded nasal spray that contains a mixture of antibiotics and antifungals that you spray directly into your nose, so no systemic meds have to be taken. There us an order form with info and your Dr can call and submit the order for whatever combo they wish to use. Hope this help, and hope you feel better.. I have had chronic sinus for a long time and it really runs me down.
  24. Thank You Gena and Sunfish - Gena - I like the idea of taking meds when needed...... I am not sure mestinon can be taken like that since I believe it has to build up in your system....... I am still on the fence... I just hate to add another drug to my body....... Thanks for all the great thoughts and suggestions!! Em - Sorry forgot to add you to the Thanks You's...I didnt see your post until I hit the reply button! Shows you where my brain is at!! LOL Anyway, yes you make sense about giving it a try....... I might go ahead and try it after the holidays...maybe give it 2 weeks...... I have to think it through...... Thanks again.. I appreciate everyone taking time out to brianstorm a little for me... HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
  25. Thanks for the replys . I think that possibly Grubbs Idea was to keep the blood in the upper part of my body.... Still deciding... Anyway Thanks everyone!
