  1. Hello again. I am sorry that I have not participated since my recent joining on this site. I have read many of your questions and answers and find them invaluable. I was wondering if beta blockers help get rid of shortness of breath or if they just help your heart rate. I hope that everyone is doing well. Thanks for all of your help. I am so glad that I found this site.
  2. Well it's official the Red Sox made history. Yeah the doctors seem to want to blame everything on stress. Whenever they ask if I have a lot of stress in my life I say well only if you take into a count I have seen probably 20 doctors over two years (as I am sure many of you have seen more) and no one can figure out what is wrong. I guess maybe that causes some stress. They don't usually like that answer.
  3. Does anyone have pain? Specifically neck pain radiating to the shoulder blades? Has anyone had acupuncture or chiropratic for this? Has anyone had a neck injury and then developed POTS? Sorry so many questions. I have four bulging discs in my cervical spine and have ready studies that neck pain is often found in those with Orthostatic Hypotension. Thanks so much. So glad that I finally found you guys.
  4. Absolutely know how you are feeling. This is my most aggrevating symptom. I used to run five miles a day. Then one day in February 2003 I felt like I could not expand out. Basically I could breath to a certain extent and then my diaphragm and muscles making my lungs work would just not cooperate. I have to make a conscious effort to take deep breaths. I have had all the tests, they are normal too. I am attorney and a young woman, therefore they blame it all on stress. Of course there is a reason that I cannot walk up to the top of Beacon Hill (where I live) (Sorry but GO SOX!) or run or walk up a flight of stairs without shortness of breath, and believe me I am not anxious everytime I do these things.
  5. I am new to this forum. I have recently been diagnosed with POTS by my cardiologist though he refuses to do a tilt table test (says if he were my insurance company that he would cancel me). He just wants to give me medicine which he thinks I have a real chance of fainting from as my normal BP is 95/50. I am sure many of you have had the same trouble that I have had with great doctors at world renowned hospitals which have no people skills and just want to throw some medicine at you. I was originally going to move to DC for a job but found a great one in Boston so I stayed. My doctor looked disappointed that I was staying and joked that he thought he had gotten rid of me. So needless to say I was hoping that someone knew a good, understanding doctor in Boston. I know that some of you forwarded Lori Valenti's story and she saw doctors in Boston, does anyone know who those might be? Thank you very much for any help which anyone can offer.
