  1. Does anyone know when the study results will be published on the larger POTS research study? Or did I miss it?
  2. I am scheduled to return to work in 3 weeks and Im nervous about how I will do. Feeling better at home when you can sit and rest at any time is different then running constantly at work.Anyone who has made it back to work have any tips or advice for me??
  3. Thatis interesting...did you take plaquinil? Iwas taking it for about 8 months and during that time the POTS developed.
  4. I am on atenalol and I have not been able to get up past 140 . Usually it around 120-130 with exercise.Im not sure what its supposed to be when on the beta blockerand Iam waiting to ask my doctor. Im not sure if I should push the intensity toget it up more or not?If I pauseeven briefly my heart rate goes down fast also. Maybe someone else has info on what is the correct heart rate?
  5. thanks for the info. I definitely dont want ablation based on all Ive heard. If he wants to do it i will just say no and see what happens.I am on beta blockers, salt, water and exercise now and am making progress. slow but improving.Maybe mine is all pots like yurs!
  6. Im wondering if anyone knows what these results mean. The findings state normal sinus rhythm, sinus tachycardia and atrial tachycardia throughout different duration of the study. postural orthostatic tachycardia like response consistent with dysautonomia. Does this mean pots and something else. Im wondering about atrial tach because the doc did mention possible ablation and i know from reading ablation is not good for pots? Any input is appreciated
  7. thanks guys, I have been wondering since i started exercising
  8. Can anyone share their exercise protocal specifically, what should you try to reach with your heart rate while on meds and how long do you keep it at a high rate? I dont see my electrophys for 2 weeks so Im exercising but not sure what my goal should be to improve??
  9. I think the most likely cause is nerve compressionin your wrist. If it continues u can sleep with a wrist splint on to help.If it continues a hand doctor or neuro should look at it.
  10. Has anyone been able to stop betablockers successfully after doing all the cardio/exercise/salt and fluids?? Im hoping this medication is not permanent, that enentually I will get off.
  11. Hi Everyone, I have been reading the board for awhile and am just able to post today. I am a 49 year old woman who was living a normal life, working ,2 teenagers, exercising, eating healthy. I thought I was doing everything right to be healthy and I ended up in the hospital twice in the past month. Tachycardia, difficulty breathing, unable to eat, chest pain etc..I thought I was dying. I was happy to find out I was not dying but I guess now I want it all...a normal life. I am taking beta blocker which helps a lot and gradually trying to exercise...walking. I have not gone back to work yet and not sure if I will be able to. I feel fairly well in my house but going out is another story. I am very weak and my muscles fatigue quickly.Still deciding if it is worth persuing a cause or just trying to treat this. I would like to know the cause of this and the type but it seems like a mission toget to one of the good docs as I live in South Florida and unbelievably there are no specialists here. My electrophysiologist told me on my last day in the hospital this is just an inconvenience !!Im worried this will give me a problem securing my short term disability and FMLA if he tells the insurance I have an inconvenience. Anyone have experience with insurance for these diagnoses??? Well, good luck to all of us and I appreciate any input, advice anyone offers, I have already learned a lot reading all your posts.
