  1. Years ago, I use to run in the gym on a treadmill then I took up outdoor running and I remember it being a lot harder to run outside on the road. I'm sure there is some Info somewhere on the web about this.
  2. Potluck, so what are your numbers if you don't mind me asking? I've been doing spin class and it's kicking my booty.. But it generally keeps my hr @ 85% of my Max for an hour. My standing HR has gone from 140 to 85-90bpm in 10 months. The only thing I can credit is the gym since I'm Med free. What's your standing HR like? Do you still get a 30 Bpm increase? Does your HR increase while standing still? Sorry I'm nosey, but it's hard to gage progress now, it's been pretty slow for me.
  3. A series of PVCs that is 7 beats or shorter is considered a "run of PVCs", anything longer than that is V-tach. (Some sources define a run of PVCs as 5 beats or 9 beats.) Other interesting PVC related rhythms are bigeminy (a PVC as every other beat) and trigeminy (a PVC as every third beat). Both of these need immediate attention as they are a sign of significant cardiac irritability. I understand, I just was trying to figure out what she meant by a run of PvCs? Ie bigeminy or non sustained vtach. Interesting you guys said bigeminy requires immediate medical attention. I'm practically always in bigeminy or trigeminy. Not one cardiologist, internist or ER physician has batted an eye at it. Hmmmm
  4. What vascular surgery did you have? If you don't mind sharing
  5. Great News Relax!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy for you
  6. What do you mean? Like PVC-norm beat-PVC -beat-PVC ? Or PVC-PVC-PVC etc...Isn't that considered non-sustained vtach? I have tons of PVCs sometimes I feel like I have three in a row and I get syncopal, I always thought it was anxiety related
  7. Yes, I just had one of these yesterday. It's been awhile for me too. I was driving and had like 3 huge PVCs, my face got all hot and prickly, my fingers were numb. It only lasted a few seconds, but darn it feels yucky. I was having some negative self talk issues prior to this event so I'm positive it was a panic attack, it's frustrating, but now I'm seeing the correlation between my thoughts and my attacks... Makes it easier to understand
  8. Just wondering if those with EDS have hyper pots? I always wonder if I have it too. I can bend my thumbs back & touch the floor with my hands. I can dislocate my shoulder and "sub lax" my hip? And thumbs. My skin is stretchy, I have varicose veins, crowded teeth, narrow palate, astigmatism, nearsightedness, i tra-atrial septal aneurysm, patent foramen ovale and now POTs. However I've never had a sprain, broken bone or easy bruising, or poor wound healing. I don't have joint pain etc.. Im not limited by any of these things ...., if pots didnt pop up, I would never consider this to be of any concern.. Know what I mean?
  9. Stress causes me to have higher than normal HRs, my BP will drop, I get tired very easy... And I get grumpy lol decreasing my stress has helped tremendously
  10. I think I've gotten better with time.. Anxiety has decreased, HR is in normal ranges, blood pressure is more consistent... I vacillate on how long I've had pots, but I was starting to have profound symptoms in feb of 2012. I hope I continue to improve
  11. I'm sorry your going through this. On a side note, I'm curious.. When you go to the Dr do you tell them how disabled you are? If so, what do they say back to you? I wonder if you need to be more aggressive? Youre 24 and "pots shouldnt be disabling" according to my DR (nice huh?) but I wonder if you just keep on your Dr.. This isn't working.. This isn't working... This isn't working ... Maybe they will keep reevaluating their treatment plan or send you to someone who will help you ? Maybe it's time to get angry? Lol
  12. Hey guys! So was just organizing my lab results when I caught something funky on my ct scan.. It says: 5mm right parieto-occipital lucency. Attenuation value is similar to CSF. Significance is unclear Asymetric ventricle are probably of normal variation 1.5 mm focus of CSF density right occipital lobe. Deep sulcus, a dilated perivascular space, old subcritical lacunar infarct. An old infectious disease conceievable but unlikely. It is probably. It significant. What on earth does all this mean? Any ideas? Thanks guys, it's kinda causing me anxiety
  13. That's what I was thinking... All this tachy minus beats already spent & I'm screwed ha ha ha
  14. Darn, I can't find the link again! But if that's true.. I'm only gonna live for another 24 years!!! Lol So say I avg 100bpm during the day & 60 at night, that's 160/2=80 bpm avg for 24 hours 24hours x 60 mins/ hour = 1,440 mins/ day 80bpm x 1,440 mins/ day = 115,200 beats / day 1000000000 beats total / 115,200 beats/ day = 8,651 days 8651 days / 365 days per year = 24 years Obviously this doesn't account for the beats I've already used up in the last 28 years! Crap! Lol Anyway, I was just reading a study about heart rate & usually bigger mammals have slower heart rates that they correlate with longer life spans. This study said on average a heart has a life span of 1 billion beats soo I thought I would do the math lol. I'm sure I screwed up somewhere, my 4 year old kept trying to jack my iPad ha ha ha ... Anyways, thought it was silly
  15. Mine does too. My orthostatic tachycardia is worse, and my Hr when changing position sky rockets. However, the next day it's back down lower than normal. I told my husband I have irritable heart syndrome lol.. I swear anything that gets it going .. Whether that be standing up or running makes my heart irritated & it doesn't want to slow back down. I've read it's a sign of being out of shape. BUT I do spin atleast twice a week for an hour & I don't think I'm that out I shape. Or it could be from overtraining.Hmmm.... On the topic of exercise, I've seen great results! My standing HR was 120 in February, now it's 85. Im now medfree.. So the only thing I can blame it on is exercise
  16. I'm not very educated in the autoimmune area. What exactly are you trying to say here?
  17. Potluck, is your friend symptomatic? Wonder why their HR jumped so much. Was it a man or a woman? Would that make a difference?
  18. I'm sorry! I don't know what to say... I'm glad you found dinet! My husband is military also, something about their strong attitudes makes me feel silly sometimes. My husband thinks its all anxiety, and that I can get over it. Do you use Tricare? It's such a hard insurance for me right now... I would love to commiserate
  19. I tested my husband and his changed 6 bpm 61 laying to 67 standing. He's is awesome shape though
  20. Leydengs, I think what your talking about, the white patches of missing pigment is pretty common when you have a fungal infection or ezcema something that disrupts the pigment and will eventually "grow out" with new pigmented cells. That is how the pediatrician explained it to me, my daughter had dry skin patches or ezcema on her face, then we went to the beach and she has had them for months now! They should fade with time.. I don't think they're concerning.
