  1. I have this same feeling. It's almost like one side of me (from my head down) goes numb. So then I move and the other side starts doing it, right when I am about to fall asleep. I use to love to sleep on my tummy but I can't do that anymore either. It hurts my neck and feels like I can't breath. I am curious why this happens as well. I sometimes think it has something to do with my neck, but the doctors I have asked all say my neck looks fine. To me it feels like something is out of place or a pinched nerve almost. Well I hope you can find a way to help it!
  2. I also have the same question. I didn't even know there were different kinds until reading the stuff on here. Part of it may be that I still haven't found a doctor close to me that will ever do anything else to figure it out either.
  3. I have also had huge pupils for a long long time. Since before high school I know for sure, and everyone always asks me and tells me they are huge! I ALWAYS have red eyes in pictures too when no one else does!!! That is crazy. Another problem I have been having with my eyes is seeing alot of floaters. Does anyone else have that?
  4. They put me on propranolol when I first was having thyroid issues to slow my heart rate down. It did slow my heart rate down but the longer I took it the worse I felt. They switched me to a different beta blocker and none of them helped. This was all before they said I had POTS.
  5. Does anyone know if birth control can cause POTS or make your symptoms worse. I was told not to take mine, this was before I was diagnosed with POTS, because it can sometimes cause an increase in heart rate and of course blood clots?? Just curious if anyone knows anything about it?
  6. They put me on paxil for a little while, and a cardiologist told me to STOP taking it right away because it can make some symptoms worse. So I did, then another doc said to take citalopram. I think it made me feel worse the very first time I took it. So I stopped it. Has anyone else ever felt worse on these medicines?
  7. yes I agree, the intensity varies, and is very scary to me when its bad. This comes and goes for me. It will sometimes happen when I am just sitting on the couch or doing nothing, and once in awhile it happens when I am up doing something, but I guess I notice it more when I am just sitting. Not sure if this sounds crazy or not, but I also notice it more when I am sitting on the couch with my legs underneath me for a long time.....
  8. I have felt this way too, and it is hard to describe. I think you said it very well! Everyone thinks I am crazy when I am trying to tell them how it feels. My eyes also feel sort of shaky too I guess you could say. Do you feel like this alot or just sometimes?
  9. I also have this. Sometimes I do take tylenol or mortin. It sometimes helps and sometimes it doesn't. But I have had my thyroid removed and I have heard that thyroid can make you feel like that too. I'm not sure about that either. But I have noticed that when my thyroid is too low that I start to feel like that.
  10. Hi there, I went through a lot of the same process. I went to a bunch of doctors and 3 trips to the ER. EVery single one of them told me I had anxiety disorder and panic attacks. I did not agree with this. I kept telling them yes I probably do after having to go through this, but that is NOT the problem!!! I just felt from every doc that they didn't care to find out anything else and just wanted to get me out of their office because they didn't think it was important. I finally went to Mayo and they told me I have POTS. After being on here though I see that there are different kinds of POTS, which no one has even told me that. Now I am curious to know more about that.
  11. I also had a positive tilt table test at Mayo this summer. And, I agree, when mine is off just a little bit I can tell my POTS is worse. I am the very same way!! I keep thinking that my thyroid issues are just causing a lot of the problem (although I have had it removed) and I am trying to convince myself that my POTS isn't as bad as I think it is!!
  12. I think a lot of mine was triggered by pregnancy as well. I had a normal delivery and pregnancy. Pregnancy is also what triggered my thyroid to go crazy, which i had removed, and I think that is a reason as well. It got even WORSE after having the thyroid surgery.
  13. I am currently staying with my parents (who both work and are gone during the day) during the week and go home on the weekends (with my mom who drives me there) (3.5 hours away) I do this because my fiance has a job where he is not in cell range or easy to get ahold of during the day if I need help, or get an "episode" or "spell." I am a stay-at-home-mom with a 16 month old baby. She is very active and on the go ALL the time. On good days I can keep up with her "ok" and make sure she has everything she needs. Sometimes on a bad day I need some extra help. I am able to go shopping, but I don't like to by myself. It's helpful for me to have someone else go along, especially with my baby. I only go when I absolutely have to and it's a challenge for me as I get dizzy. short of breath, and racing heart most of the time. These things are very frustrating to me, because I am young still and a new mom who just wants to enjoy the time I get to spend with my little girl!! It is helpful to know that there are others out there with the same issues!
  14. Hi there, I actually had my thyroid removed in February of this year. I started levothyroxin 3 days after surgery. I noticed after taking it I felt jittery and shaky and racing heart, so I didn't take it for a couple days, and was ok. Doc said that was the wrong thing to do.... But... I then had to get my Rx filled through a certain company for insurance reasons, and it was synthroid, I felt a lot better on it and didn't seem to notice those symptoms as much. I then had to have my blood tested again, and they had to increase my dose. So just to quickly go and get my Rx, I went to Wal-Mart and filled it. I noticed the very same symptoms as before (racing heart, jittery, shaky, dizzy, just "weird" feeling). And, I noticed that on the bottle it said levothyroxine again.... So I am not sure what the difference is between them or if there is... but I have noticed differences between the two. THe docs say that I should not notice these changes so fast because it takes awhile to get in your system, but I really believe that I do.
