  1. Agreeky, What do you mean exactly when you say rotational vertigo. I have recently developed vertigo but only for a few seconds a few times a week. It is as if whatever i'm looking at rotates about 90 degrees and comes back to normal, sometimes it almost occillates. I have also had a feeling of almost on a wave or im falling backwards with dizziness and then it returns to normal within a few seconds. Is this similar to you? Or has anyone else experienced this. I have had pots for 6 years and this is by far the scariest symptom. I recently had a baby 3 months ago, I also had a head neck massage in the mall post pregnancy to see if it would relax me. The vertigo began after but not instantly. Any ideas what this sounds like. Had a normal Head MRI with and without contrast. Thanks
  2. Hey, I can completely relate to you about the excessive blinking. This is one symptom that seems to be a irritant and I wondered if it is actually a Pots symptom, it seems to be because the nervous system could affect your eyes I would think. I am actually having that issue now, not so bad this very moment but still bothering me. It is as if your eyes blink a bunch on their own and you cannot control it and I seem to get eye and head pressure when this happens, it is scary for me and I dont know how it feels when it happens to you. I was at a friends house and I dont know if the lights do it, or just overstimulation but we were laughing and then I begin to feel like my eyes are blinking alot, and hope they dont notice. At the same time I feel like I cannot focus because of my eyes and the pressure on my head, it is quite embarrassing feeling and I know they have to notice. When I got in the car to drive home it gets worse, the lights do bother me and it is made worse as my neck muscles tense up. I dont know if it is stress related it seems worse around a busy atmosphere but seems to get worse also when my neck is in a tense position on computer, driving, etc. I dont know really, advice on this would be extremely helpful on how to limit this from happening. But I can completely relate, and it is scary for me. Let me know more about your issues.
  3. Has anyone tried Butchers Broom? I was reading on this website as well as the web in general of how it is used to improve circulation and help with blood vessels in our legs. Anyone having any feedback?
  4. Thanks for everyone's reply. I have strongly considered seeing a neurologist, and am waiting for a referral as we speak. Since others, such as yourselves are having neck pain or pressure, do we think it is another strange POTS symptom? I would like to know what our body is doing that would cause it? Or is it another underlying issue that could possible cause POTS or just aggravate it. I have considered Chiari, which I will mention to the doctor if and when I go, but they did an MRI 4 years ago when all of this started and never mentioned anything about Chiari but it also was a family PA (that knew nothing of POTS) not a neurologist. I am going to request a upright MRI, the pain and pressure is worse while standing, reading, driving, and even sitting just being upright. It is aggravating while laying but not nearly as bad as being upright. POTS really stinks sometimes you know, shortness of breath, stomach bloating, ears full, tired, feeling off balance while walking these are the strange symptoms that are gracing me with their presence tonight. But it could be worse, and I have faith that everyone here finds answers and healing. have a goodnight!
  5. Hello. Ok, I have a question for everyone. I have been diagnosed with POTS for 4 years now the doctor said he thought it was from a virus. But the thing about it is that I have been consistently having posterior neck pain and I was wondering if anyone has ever experienced this. It is pretty strange so I do not know if it is related to POTS, if it is and if someone else is having this then I was curious to what is the cause? Ok does anyone ever have the following : I have severe neck pain and pressure, when I have the pressure on my neck I also get an unbearable pressure on my eyes, which in turn causes me to involuntarily blink alot. My husband notices me blinking more. It is very aggravating and it is hard to keep my head upright it feels so heavy on my neck, and the pressure on my eyes is scary that it would make me blink more than usual. Ok so any insight would help me, if it could be POTS related? Has anyone experianced it? or Does anyone know what might cause this if it is a seperate entity. P.S. I have many POTS symptoms but this one is the one that is aggravating at the moment. I have had an MRI, when POTS first started but they said it was normal, but it cannot be normal if I am feeling like this, people do not normally have severe neck pressure. Thanks alot for your help!
  6. So I have been diagnosed with Pots for 2 1/2 years from my cardiologist, I was going to see Dr. Grubb in Ohio who likes you to have a tilt table test so my doctor here in NC order one for me. I went to the hospital to have it completed, and my doctor wanted me to go off the beta blocker that I was taking in order to get a accurate result of what my actual heart was doing. I went off the beta blocker about 4 days prior to this procedure. I laid down on the table my heartrate was 95-105bpm, they raised me up and said that the highest my heart rate got was 170 and then went to 140's and stayed there the whole thirty minutes of standing. I had another cardiologist (not my doctor) come out and tell me that the test showed atrial tachycardia. So now I am confused because he said I could have atrial tachycardia or POTS, or both, but he keep talking about the AT. Very confused at the moment. Getting ready to start my beta blocker again. Does anyone know much about this? or some thoughtful insight? Thanks..
  7. I am very curious if this bothers anyone else, and what could it be? This happens at least three times a week, while I am sleeping at night I will wake up with my heart beating fast and feel horrible like I am going to die.....does this happen to anyone. My husband normally checks it and says it is fast. It also happens worse if I eat late at night....but it is very scary, Is this just POTS? ?
  8. Rachel, I see that you have been diagnosed with multiple things, I know POTS can be primary or secondary. I have been diagnosed with POTS for 3 years, and although I have been going to doctors the whole time they have not came up with anything else causing it other than a virus. But I feel so badly most of the time, how do they diagnose you with all those things, because I wonder if there is something else or is it all POTS? I think if I knew either way would make me worry less but my body feels so bad that I really wonder could POTS make you feel this way.
  9. BSNgirl, I am a 25 year old female, haven't had any kids, and I stay short of breath daily worse after I eat, some reason it was really bad just walking to the car today, I am on a low beta blocker dose, but I do not think my heartrate was high when I was having shortness of breath, if it was at all up it was significant enough I do not believe to make a difference. Symptoms such as this worry me because I am still young and feel like I am a 50 year old overweight, unhealthy man stuck in a 25 year old females body. When they did my stress test to check my heart, the guy doing the ultrasound part said my heart responded like I was an overweight person, I weigh 118 at that time 112lbs, but he said it sped up fast and came back down really slow. Although everything with my heart has checked out fine, as far as I know.
  10. I get short of breath when I walk to the car? Is that the shortness of breath that ya'll experiance or is that extreme. I came out of work today blessed to be able to go, but I felt so short of breath and lightheaded just to get to the car? Is that something else, or do all POTS patients experiance this?
  11. gwenda, I do notice problems as well with sugars, but especially pizza and pastas, I feel horrible and are good for nothing hours after eating those things. I need to stop eating those things I guess, but it is hard when your husbands wants that in particularly and I normally would enjoy those items as well. What is good to eat?
  12. I suppose I need to eat smaller meals, but sometimes I eat a yogurt and feel badly. My stomach issues bloating, feeling full easily and generally feeling bad is one of the worst symptoms. To add to my list of many symptoms, I feel like a complainer but has anyone ever had problems with there kidneys, they found blood in my urine, which could mean a UTI, but I urinate frequently and alot at a time???? Is that normal and is it related to POTS? My doc game me some bactrim for a short period of time 3days. I also have pressure over my kidney area sometimes I get that after I eat like someone is almost pressing my upper abdomen where the kidneys would be? Strange..yes.. Thank you for responding it was very helpful. I had a feeling that the Wellbutrin might aggravate my already overstimulated body. I am hesitant of taking it, thanks for your input and prayers.
  13. Dear Broken Shell, Thank you for your verse, very encouraging and helpful!
  14. I do have alot of anxiety where before I hardly ever stressed or got anxiety. Yeah I understand the sensitivity to medicines, but more than anything I am scared to take new medicines, because I do not want more problems than I already have. I guess it is the only way to see if it will help. It seems as if my system is round up now and with outside stimuli, but then again I am very exhausted easily. Not sure what to try?
