mvdula
From what I have read/researched, seems like atenolol has the fewest side effects and is very helpful to many people. What specific symptoms has it helped you with?
DavidH
Atenolol worked for about two years for me. Took me out of bed and back on my feet. Then just stopped working from one day to the next. But it worked very well when it was working. It kept my heart at a fairly even bpm. Blood pressure stayed up most of the time. Was a God send for me.
Tammy
Helps control the adrenaline surges in my system and even out my heart rate. Negative is that is causes even more fatique than I normally had already.
juliegee
It worsened my symptoms considerably...brought about daily anaphylaxsis (slow learner!) until my doctor switch BB's for me. Any of us with allergy induced POTS/MCAD, asthma, or other severe allergies have to be careful with atenolol.Julie
Radha
atenolol is the best beta blocker for me, and i have tried alot, it keeps tachycardia and forceful beating down alot when i try to eat and my bp actually goes up from being so low, Radha
bgsu4
I'm going to be trying a low dose very soon. I have been a little scared because I have a low resting heart rate (40-50) and my BP drops low at times but my neuro (Chelimsky one of the best) said that its all about the dosage and it can actually balance out your ANS so my HR and BP's may stabilize. Of course I'm being put on a Holter for a bit just to make sure it doesn't drop too far when I sleep. I'm at the point where I will try anything.
