delphicdragon Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 HelloI finally got an appointment to see an autonomic specialist in Greenwich, CT, a Dr. Frederick Nahm (mods if we can't say names, please delete this post) Has anyone ever seen him? Does he "get us"? I have been diagnosed with POTS and when it got worse about two weeks ago, I finally got my PCP to get me a referral to a specialist. I'm currently not working, am not allowed to drive and still quite sick. (Work is letting me telecommute until further notice, as my PCP wrote me a Dr's note.) ThanksSara Quote
Guest tearose Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 I saw him once a few years ago. He seemed very interested in helping me but I never got around to going back to him. I had already an established relationship at Mayo. What I recall, he was very wise, knew all about POTS, and up on the latest literature (suggesting mestinon the month before the Mayo study was released) I was very moved that he offered and took me on a tour around the ANS lab. They had everything that Mayo had excluding the Thermoregulatory Sweat Test Box. Anyway, I had tons of hope back then. I envisioned that it could become a hub on the east coast for ANS dx and treatment. That was about four years ago. I don't what it is like now. Please go with good expectations and then fill us all in. I get more and more physically tired of making the pilgrimages to Mayo, so I am personally interested in your impressions.best regards, tearose Quote
