Rachel Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 I went to see my sleep specialist today for a follow up appointment. I am so impressed with her. She didn't know about POTS until she first had me as her patient this past spring, but she has been very willing to learn. She has researched POTS, looked for doctors in the area that could help with different aspects of my health, and she really thinks about the meds she prescribes for me to make sure they're the best option. She has even called me on the phone several times. Then today, she actually walked with my husband and me out of the doctors office so that she could hold the doors open! How many doctors do that for their patients?! Granted, I'm in a wheelchair and need the extra assistance; but still, no other doctor has walked me out of the office in order to hold the door!I was just so pleased and impressed that I had to share!Rachel Quote

flop Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 I'm so glad that you have found such a lovely doctor. It is great to hear that she is really interested in your POTS and how her treatments may impact that as well as having lovely manners by the sound of things. I hope that the pair of you have a profitable relationship and find some good treatment combinations.Flop Quote
LindaJoy Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 Rachel, uuuuuh, who is this doctor, where can I find her, is she taking new patients, I sleep okay but I can pretend that I don't, my husband could be the patient--he has a sleep apnea machine for pretty severe apnea and I could tag along.......... Seriously, I'm so glad for you, that you found a doctor who is willing to LISTEN and actually RESEARCH and try to HELP!! Wow, that's what we're all looking for. I truly hope she works out well for you, as it sounds like she will. You're very blessed (and I think with more than just a good doctor--your husband going to your appointments with you is a blessing, too.)Take care.Lindajoy Quote
DSM3KIDZ Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 That's wonderful when you can find a compassionate doctor. I know having the great team of doctors I have makes all the difference in my anxiety levels and outlook I just feel confident they will try everything before ever giving up on me.Dayna Quote
