Sushi
Hey for those of you who have had sleep studies is there a protocal about keeping on with your meds, dropping some of them (like ambien) or is it up to the individual sleep doctor. I am going to do one and doubt if I would sleep at all without at least some of my meds. Would appreciate your experience. Thanks
Rachel
Usually you have to go off of your sleep meds. Many of them interfere with sleeping patterns, which would lead to less-than-accurate results. But if you can't sleep at all, or can't get enough sleep for the study, then your doctor may choose to keep you on your meds. It's better to have slightly disrupted results from a med vs. no sleep at all! You can talk to your doctor about what meds would be okay for you to take during the study. Hope it goes well for you!
