ode_to_fantasy
So my doctor finally decided that it would be beneficial (or at least worth a try) for me to start taking Mestion 60mg twice a day. I can't believe it, I CAN WALK AGAIN!!!!!! I am so ecstatic! I haven't passed out in almost a week!! I really hope my body doesn't get used to this one really fast, like it has all the others, because I think I'm in love. <

corina
congratulations!!!! i am a mestinon fan as well! i wouldn't want to do without it. i started the mestinon trying 30 mg three times a day and have upped it until 120mg 3 times a day. that was because it lost its effect everytime until i got to this dosis. of course i talked this over with my doc. he told me that i was allowed even more of it when necessary, can't remember what is the max. so please stay in love with the mestinon, even when your body gets used to it!!! there are 10mg tablets to help you up the dosis (when necessary of course ).enjoy your new life!!!corina

goldicedance
Glad you are finding Mestinon a great help. There is also a Mestinon Time Release that may be more effective because it stays in your system longer and may be gentler on your stomach. You can also add Midodrine to Mestinon for rough days.Hope this is your magic charm.Lois
Sunfish
glad to hear your good news:-) just an FYI though re: the time-release mestinon that was mentioned; it's great for some but can be problematic for those with significant GI motility issues, i.e. gastroparesis. melissa
nadine
So happy for you. This is one of my next meds to try and I have been hesitant -as the side affects have been worse for me. I am motivated to at least try it now.
