Guest tearose
I think it is always a positive thing when people can share their opinion, thoughts, concerns...I too don't feel offended.I think it is good for me to question what I learned and thought and pondered and to try to be open to new ideas. It is also a good feeling to know what I believe is "right thinking" and in line with those opinions I value.tearose
Maxine
I'm not offended either---not by you, but mybe your PT---LOL.My cardiologist from my EDs specialist's office called yesterday to ease my fears of sedation, and local anesthetics. I'm trying to figure out if my own anxieties have been associated with the adverse reactions I have had from different sedation drugs, and lidocaine without epi.He said there is obviously something wrong "physically" to cause these reactions, and that I could not mentally manifest those kinds of symptoms to the degree I had them. Just more confirmation that these things are not controlled by my thinking patterns.I have a couple of procedures that need to be done-----tooth extraction, and colonoscopy. My health has been a little fragile lately due to some recent family stress from my mothers recent passing, so I agree that stress can make things worse on an already existing medical condition. The Doc that called me understands this stress has put me in a vunerable position with my health-------both physically and emotionally/mentally, and he thinks I should consult with an anesthesiologist to discuss my adverse reaction to drugs. It was so nice to be told these reactions are not manifested in my mind. He wants me to be careful..... but he wants me to get the colonoscopy considering my mother just passed away from terminal cancer, and my brother has just found out after undergoing chemo last year that his colon cancer is back, and he has 17 lymph nodes affected.Maxine :0)
P SUDIK
Who do these people think they are? Why do they think they can just say all these totally idiotic things to us? I just spent 3 days in the hospital to no avail, and encountered way too many medical professionals,I would say 90% who no nothing of POTS. You know that saying,"you have to kiss alot of frogs, before you find your Prince" Well that is how I feel about the medical profession,I have had POTS for 4yrs and am still kissing lots of frogs. I am not saying that there are not any good docs. out there, but you do have to search.Oh and BTW Nina I have few others to add to you hit list! lthomas521
My friend's golden retriever got cancer. Was it because that dog was inflexible and had other sorts of dysfunctional thought patterns? Maybe the cancer patients only seem inflexible because they don't endorse the PT's stupid theory. MomtoGiuliana
The cancer comment alone was so completely ridiculous that it would make me question any other authorative commentary from this medical professional. I know many people who have had cancer and they are all so different in personality--the idea that you could generalize about the personalities of any group of patients is simplistic and silly. I wonder if this person thinks the same way about different skin colors and gender...But, no, I was not offended by your post--and just disappointed that such an ignorant person is practicing in the medical field.Katherine
