Guest dionna Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 i have heard of it occuring after surgery. i wouldn't think an implant of any type itself would cause it though.dionna Quote
JenniferInOhio Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 The implants would not cause it...maybe the surgery? Quote
Sophia3 Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 One POTS site years ago HYPOTHESIZED that some surgerys can put the neck in a position to change pressure on the spinal fluid thus ALLEGEDLY triggering POTS symptoms. But that was usually for folks predisposed to Chiair issues or other neck stuff I don't want to get into here. No, implants do not cause POTS imo. Quote

MomtoGiuliana Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 POTS mechanisms are still poorly understood. There do seem to be some "triggers"--pregnancy, viruses, and yes, surgery.Katherine Quote
Sunfish Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 surgery wherein the vagus nerve could have been affected could trigger/cause some aspects of some dysautonomias as well... melissa Quote
