Guest veryblue Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 Quick question...it POTS is a problem with being in the upright posistion, then why does my heart still pound away when I am supine? I just dont get it and am begining to think that maybe this isnt POTS since I have a fast heart at rest ALL THE TIME. I live on beta blockers and just can't imagine living like this for 60 more years! No way! Does anyone know why it beats fast when supine? The veins in my legs cant be bothered in this posistion (which in all my studies, seems to be the problem with POTS patients anyway) can they? Please any thoughts are appriciated!
MightyMouse Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 (edited) I believe you asked the same question a few days back...http://dinet.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=545typically, if you'd like more answers to your questions, you should bump the post by adding another reply on the end and it will then move it to the top of the board. This helps save space on the board and helps to eliminate duplicate posts. Additionally, if you did not read the prior threads by "thisblows" I encourage you to do so as your question is nearly identical. Karen M. Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 veryblueI assume a cardiologist has diagnosed you with POTS? What is your supine HR on and off the beta blocker? What is your standing HR, on and off the beta blocker? Do you know for sure if all the beats are sinus in rythmn?Karen M.
