wareagle
Hey guys..I was just wondering for those of you with GI issues (celiac and IBS, etc.) do you ever get back pain/discomfort? I had my gall bladder out a couple of mths. ago and I'm still having GI probs. and now my back is aching along with my abdomen and I feel so bloated all the time. I'm thinking it's time to get tested for celiac sprue even though I don't have the tell tale symptom of fatty stools. I see my POTS doc in a couple of weeks but might go to my GP sooner...I'm just so tired of being so uncomfortable all the time. Still lots of irritation in my right upper ab. from the surgery which doesn't help .

Lukkychrm42
In my personal experience, pain that radiates to the back from the abdomen can be a sign of serious problems, so if it continues, I hope you get it checked out ASAP.
sstephan
I get bouts of extreme back and abdominal pain on the right side. This actually started soon after I had my gallbladder removed last summer. The pain is so intense I sometimes cannot stand it. It seems to happen after I eat certain foods such as beans, cheese, or peanut butter. It lasts about twenty minutes or less. I have had every possible GI test in the book and everything has been fine. My GI doc really has no ideas what is causing it. I take Nulev up to six times a day and put two under my tongue if the pain becomes intense. It does calm down after Nulev. It is a spasming type of pain. I have learned to deal with it somewhat, but it is very very frustrating and very scary. Interesting that you too have back pain after gallbladder removal. I have always thought there was a connection.
