BabieDollHLC
Hi everyone! Once in a while when I don't feel good I get this bad ear and neck pain with a headache. I was woundering if any of u experience this...and if it is related to pots. I know the neck part is..but im not sure about the ears. It hurts even worse when i touch my neck. Im kind of woundering if it was from one of the times I fainted..but they did ex rays and everything turned out ok.They told me it was just sprained. MightyMouse
Hmmm. Heather, an x-ray isn't very diagnostic of things like sinus infections or other more subtle things than a break/fracture. If you haven't seen an ear/nose/throat doc, that might be a place to start (otolaryngologist) (I think I spelled that right )I had pain in the sides of my neck and ear pain for years--it was sinus related but went undiagnosed for a very long time. I had sinus surgery this past March and my ears have been GREAT. Also, the pain on the sides of my neck is gone most days. I only have occasionaly problems when my allergies are acting up and get my sinuses blocked--leaves me with pressure and ear pain, swollen glands.I also had pain at the back/base of my neck, and a feeling of fullness in the front of my throat--this was caused by a spinal abnormality which I had repaired.Hang in there. ethansmom
I also had this pain & pressur ein my ears and the back of my neck, mostly prior to and right after I first got sick. When it didn't go away, I had it looked at by my doctor, and it was indeed a sinus infection that must have been there for months. I took an antibiotic and I haven't had that problem since. pamyla
I get the neck pain alot, probably from using this computer ;p But I also get earaches that are on and off. I talked to various doctors about it and they didn't see anything wrong with my ear. Finally I learned that it's probably due to TMJ. I guess on nights I grind my teeth alot it touches on a nerve near my ear.
SLynn
Hi, I'm new. I also have the same problem. I have a lot of pain in my neck, pressure in my ear, earaches and headaches. I had a MRI done on my cervical spine and lumbar spine, cat scans and x-rays, whick were all okay. My doctor could only conclude that the pain came from TMJ. I still have it though! I hope you get to feeling better! Lynn
Guest Julia
I also get quite a bit of pain behind my ears and the very bottom of my head. I have been told this is probably due to my cervical spinal stenosis and mild brain stem compression. I do not have any sinus trouble---and I also do not have any allergies. The pain is at it's worst if I lie on my back when sleeping, but I also get it while sitting up. I had my sinuses checked when all this began---and they found no trouble at all.I also get a tapping or pulsating feeling at the base of my head, and at times it wakes me up out of a dead sleep Julie
