Must Have High Bp With Pheochromocytoma?

i was wondering if you have to have high bp with pheochromocytoma? i dont have high bp but lot of other symptoms of this, any info would be appreciated, thanks

From my understanding Pheno's are always associated with dangerously high blood pressure "spikes" (like a BP surge), in fact, a nurse at Vandy told me that many pheno patients end up having strokes because of the violent increase in BP they experience.

Here is a site you may have seen, the classic signs are headache, sweating and heart palpatations. Usually an endocrinologist is seen and ask for a 24 urine catch for screening. BP spikes are not always caught and taking your BP regularly can help to keep an eye on that as you know.

My endocrinologist screen me 10 years ago for Pheo due to my orthostatic tachycardia. so it's not always BP that shows it and MANY OTHER THINGS can appear with it besides high BP.

The hallmark of pheo is either sustained or paroxymal hypertension with phenomenal numbers that do not respond to meds. morgan

Yes, the BP is always high -- at least some of the time.
