gelann
Does any one hear have a temperature that can vary from 93 for example to 106? I know the autonomic system affects temperatures but I never find any more information than that on it. If someone does have this problem, have you found any way to help treat it. My daughter is 23 has been diagnosed with dysautonomia, first they called it vasovagal syncope, then nmh. I guess its all in the same family. She is 104 degrees and feels awful today. Thanks. Wufflebear
As a kid I did (have had this since age of about 3). I ran from 95.? to on one occasion 104 for several days. Now I run 95.? to 102. (99 or more comes with swollen glands etc...but not a contagious sort of thing. Just my Dysautonomia freeking out.)I too have gotten the same diagnosis from the sounds of it and yes they are all basically different words for the same thing. UnicornIsis
My normal temp is 97.6 or a bit lower. My dad and brother neither of which have this or anything else, their normal is 96 and sometimes as low as 93 for my brother when he was playing football. When I'm actually "sick" and have a fever, like you can touch my forehead and KNOW I have a fever its barely near 100 and usually only ever gets to 101, its NEVER at the range for an actual "fever" according to the docs. Hope this helps.
halmad85
my temp can be off too, but not quite to that extent. Usually, in the am it's about 96-97.0. But every evening I get flushed, and my temp is 99.0-101.
laila
Is there any possibility she could be sick? My son whos 24 just ran a high fever for 5 days thankfully no one else has gotten it. He went to the Doctor and was prescribed antibiotics, I asked him what they were for and he didn't know! He's shy and said the Doc handed him the script. It was actually a physical first one in like 7 years he was going for and he has social anxiety and tried to get out of going, I pushed him to go in case he did need the antibiotics. Still not sure if if was a virus, maybe the doc thought he was getting bronchitis, he had a cough, body aches, etc. I hope I don't get it I will be layed flat for a week! My temp tends to run low and alot of times I feel feverish and it may be 99, but I rarely get high fevers. I just feel like I'm sick half the time anyway. Jacquie802
My temp is usually 97.
Guest sonotech
I also tend to run "low grade fevers". I have even had blood work done at my pcp's office when it was 101.3 and labs were normal. It always baffled my doc. I run temps several days a week and it can make me feel crummy. I think the HIGH temp you are talking about would be a little more worrisome and might be infection related. Would get it checked out if lasts more that 24hrs.Laura
willows
Hello, yep......... I run a temperature to . My normal temp is about 98 but on bad days it goes up to 102+ and along with this I get this awful feeling of flu in my system ( which it isn't ) The symptoms are always the same year in year out for about 15 years now ; chronic joint pains through my body so bad even touching my arm or leg gently hurts , glands swollen, headache , stiffness ......just like flu!I have learnt over the years to go to bed and stay there until its over, drink gallons of anything going and go to sleep , sleep and more sleep.I tend to get one about every three or four months without fail, it may be that I just push myself sometimes to much , like we all do without knowing it !Willows. Poohbear
Is she always like this or is this a more recent change? 93 to 106 is a bigger range than the majority of us with "just" POTS experience. If her range has always been this wide then it's possible she's fighting a virus of some kind. Has she been checked for mitochondrial disorders?
gelann
My daughter first started getting these fevers in 1999 and saw so many specialists looking for some type of infection. Everything would come back negative. Her stomach problems started in 2001--gastroparesis and in 2005 she started passing out, enlarged pupils, extremely tired--dysautonomia. Now her cardio dr. has finally put this all together it is part of the dysautonomia and he wants her to see Dr. Grubb. She has an appt in November. As I understand that this is the normal time to get to see him. Thanks to everyone who responded. Gelann
Guest tearose
My temps seem to stay in the 97.3 for lows and if I ever get to 100 I have a fever! IF I get to 101 or above I am really, really sick and when I get to 102 the room starts spinning. Once I get that high fever, I am in big trouble. Last time I had a 102 fever I problems with heart rate being erratic and besides being sick and dizzy I had to decide whether or not to go to the ER...Please let us know what Grubb says to you because it is a large range of variations she has. I would have thought she may be living with somekind of virus or infection that is undetected.be well, tearose
calypso
I usually have a virus or infection if I have a temp above 99. I would get her to a doctor. 104 is pretty high for an adult. This is probably a long shot, but has she been evaluated for lupus? Sometimes the symptoms aren't always obvious, but one of them is frequent fevers. I'm not trying to scare you, just making sure your daughter's doctor has been thorough. It's not the easiest illness to diagnose. At one point my doctors thought I might have lupus but it eventually was ruled out, mainly because of the absence of fevers.I hope she cools down soon and nothing is wrong.Amy
