Jacquie802
Does anyone here have "overactive taste buds?" It seems like anything I eat including katsup and stuff makes me cringe my face...
MightyMouse
actually, I would say I'm the opposite of that--I seek out things that are sweet, hot, spicy, salty, sour, etc. I love my hot sauce, indian food, thai food, cookies, candy, sour-patch gummies, salt & vinegar potato chips, fresh lemonaide, sweet tarts, ... you get the idea Taste probably has very little to do with POTS. Taste buds work on a chemical sensory network, and disorders of taste are usually related to chemical exposure, radiation exposure and/or inner ear problems.http://www.nidcd.nih.gov/health/smelltaste/taste.aspNina
Sunfish
generally speaking i'd say i'm with nina here...i tend to like lots of flavor. my stomach doesn't always agree with my mouth though so i have to be a bit cautious (or i pay).that said, when my GI issues are particularly unhappy (bad nausea, gastroparese, &/or reflux) i tend to lose my appetite for many things in general and am only interested in pretty bland items if anything at all (except for salt...that i generally always want).so i suppose i can go in either direction. while taste itself isn't directly related to anything autonomic i know that for me my "taste" is indirectly related to other things that are going on with me health-wise. melissa
Mrs. Glass
Nope, just everything tastes wierd. I thought it was the meds messing with my taste buds.
