Bailee
Has anyone had GI issues. At first it started with not being able to make frequent bowel movements. I would make maybe 1-2 a week if that. I told my doctor she said to take miralax which I did. One month later not much has changed. Bowel movements are very slow along with digestion. This week the issues seemed to have worsened now I have diarrhea and nausea every time I have a meal. I’ve split my meals in half to reduce the symptoms seemed to reduce nausea but not diarrhea. With splitting my meals I’m not eating much food so it’s making my fatigue worse. I’m drinking oral rehydration solutions so I don’t get dehydrated. I don’t drink milk or eat dairy + gluten free so I’m not sure what’s happening. Made an appointment with GI in two weeks. I also have hypothyroidism so don’t know if that’s contributing. Kind of sucks I’ve never had GI issues like this before.

I did consult with a gastroenterologist as I was getting a colonoscopy anyway. Pretty useless—Miralax and psyllium! An automatic specialist might offer more GI help. JennKay
@DysautonmiaMatt -- Omg, I thought I was the only one dealing with "peanut butter" stool!! I am having issues and the moment and this is my current status. That and more frequent trips to the bathroom. @Bailee -- My struggle is more on the loose side than the constipated side. I have also seen a GI but he had no idea what was going on. I've also removed gluten and that made me feel better overall, but didn't help with my GI issues. I did eliminate dairy for a bit, but brought that back so I can add cheese, yogurts and other probiotics to my diet. I do find that yogurts help with my GI symptoms, as does ginger and mint tea when Im nauseous.
MikeO
@BaileeSorry to hear you have had some GI issues crop up. Don't have a good answer as i do struggle with GI problems as well. Might help to look back at what you may have changed lifestyle wise. I also see you are taking oral rehydration solutions some of these can be a bit harsh. For me Vitamin water and liquid IV have triggered GI flare ups.
Catbrat
Hi Bailee, I have the same symptoms, and I found out from my specialist that it's gastroparesis. Your food is not moving through your intestines, so you have nothing to put out. I would feel full, bloated, and unable to eat. If the food that's in your intestines stays to long, your body will get rid of it, and you get diarrhea. Try eating small meals, no raw vegetables, no raw fruit. I used miralax daily. Consult a gastroenterologist.
Pattie
Anyone have just nausea? Lately, I am nauseated every day - sometimes more often than others; sometimes it lasts longer than others. Is this related to POTS or is there something else going on? Roxy
I fluctuate between stomach dumping and gastroparesis the joys of dysautonomia
MikeO
I working with a nutritionist. I have made big improvements with a diet change. It is hard work to make the lifestyle change but i am seeing the benefits.
supertired
Me too... A change to a vegan, gluten free diet plus probiotics has been a game changer for me. Hard change to make, so I did Sakara so I didn't have to think about what to eat or spend the energy trying to do it on my own. Took a month or two to notice the change... But it's substantial, for bladder and GI issues. Helped me a lot... I figure, I have autoimmune dysautonomia and all kinds of weird sensitivities, so something with food I guess is irritating... Too hard to pin down exactly what, so just switching to a vegan, organic, gluten free, non-GMO, no food gums... Seemed to let my GI system and bladder calm down... FWIW. I do miss cheese
Sea otter
Supertired, how did doctors figure out you have autoimmune dysautonomia? I have heard about it, but also that experts are not sure about that, that's why I am asking.
cosyfiep
Got the GI issues as well (though having a family history of colon cancer, Krohn's disease, colitis, IBS et.al does not help). Waking up with the butterfly feeling and then my colon feels the need--- (though I have had the anxiety causing the 'runs' for decades). MikeO
Pretty sure my GI issues are induced down right by Hyperglycemia. My Diet modifications (while not perfect) has helped.
