lamp_girl
Just had my period for the first time in a while, and was just completely wiped out for about a week. I'm new to POTS so haven't had a real "flare" yet outside of this, and I'm curious what to expect-- do people with bad periods feel like they're worse than other flares, better, or about the same? Pistol
Hi @lamp_girl - I did not really notice a worsening of symptoms during my periods ( I have hyeprPOTS ) but I know of many women who do. It is supposedly due to the hormonal imbalance during that time. I did however notice a severe worsening of symptoms once menopause onset ( same theory ). StayAtHomeMom
My "flares" are usually during my period, or at least close. I am currently dealing with it now. My symptoms generally get worse and I have to take it easier than usual. But honestly you get used to how your body works after a while. I genuinely can't remember a "flare" that was not from my period besides when my symptoms first started. And nothing was as bad as that first year. I think my POTS is relatively mild compared to most people on this forum though. Vitamin water helps me out a lot during the times it is worse.
