Any corrolation with POTS and tooth pain?

I have a back tooth that has gotten a cavity, a cap and a root canal.  Still now relief!  I want to just have it taken out!  With my hugely unique medical issues -(multiple GI surgies, brain aneurysms, lung issues ...since childhood) I have been ignoring the tooth.  Just wanted to know if this could be related to POTS or its just me and my dumb luck again. ;)

I have had a lot of problems with my teeth, brittle, breaking, cavities the lot. I think that initially my POTS was caused by a bad tooth infection but I am yet to have a doctor listen and accept that theory! I just get them pulled out now. Sorry that you are going through this tooth pain and discomfort is the worst

I would talk to both your dentist and PCP about it possibly being referred pain either from another tooth or neck/shoulder muscles.  It might be worth it to see if a massage therapist or chiropractor is warranted!  A root canal removes the nerve in the tooth so unless there's something wrong (like if the tooth was perforated, cracked, etc and infection set in) the cause of the pain shouldn't be coming from that tooth.  I've had weird tooth pain over the past 1.5 yrs and thought it was from changing an unrelated med (2 dental exams cleared me of cavities) but your question does makes me wonder now if it isn't dysautonomia related?

I am so sorry you are having tooth pain :( I hope you are able to find some relief. I just read a study that you may find interesting about the effect of glycerin in toothpaste...Apparently glycerin coats your teeth and inhibits the natural ability of your teeth to re-enamelize. If you google "glycerin in toothpaste" I think you'd find it. Not sure if this is helpful to you or not, but perhaps it is something to consider? I've just started making my own toothpaste out of baking soda, coconut oil and a few drops of peppermint extract.. I'm right there with you on the tooth pain but I suspect mine is just a cavity. Good luck.
