dm866
I have been diagnosed with pseudoseizures, but I know that my physical symptoms are not a manifestation of mental issues. Are there other reasons why I may have pseudoseizues?
statesof
Hi dm866, it sounds like your feeling that your "pseudo seizure" diagnosis is not being attributed by your doctors to the right cause? Did they tell you your pseudo seizures are a manifestation of stress/ anxiety? I know that some people here have gotten seizures since having POTS symptoms sometimes as a part of their presyncope. Have these episodes of your occurred under simialir circumstances that you have noticed?
PupLoverKV
Have these been witnessed at all? My syncope was initially mis-diagnosed as seizures by a neuro after my neighbor described one which happened in front of her. The consensus is now that they are "syncope". My understanding is that most people with POTS stop at pre-syncope and don't actually pass out. Has the possibility been ruled out that you are just in the minority which does? jknh9
I have seized while unconscious after fainting. It was documented during my TTT by the doctor and nurses. I am also prone to hypoxic? seizures. Not sure of the name, but there was a video of this floating around a little while ago. It's like a full-body tremor that comes and goes in waves while you're conscious.
