Have you seen a cardiologist and had a thorough work up (echo, event monitor)?

Chest pain is a symptom many POTS patients experience. Sometimes chest pain is not heart pain. However it's always good to mention any new symptoms to your doctor and I would urge you to contact your doctor. Peace of mind is also important for your well-being of course!

hey yeh i had an event monitor, and echo and all was fine, but had a couple of episodes of this sort of pain, that didnt catch on monitor, my cardiologist then released me as they dont specialise in pots and didnt want to go to the trouble of reffering me. i do get muscle spasms, and when taking pulse i have felt on a number of occasions a vain spasm

Quite a lot of us with dysautonomia and also other types of issues like anxiety (a bunch of people here have anxiety. I myself had anxiety like symptoms without really feeling anxious) have chest pain. Some of it feels like it comes from the heart, or just below, sometimes above, sometimes under the arm, .....etc and even in the back.
I suspect that dysautonomia can trigger anxiety like symptoms.

You may have to accept the fact that you are going to have various nasty symptoms. I remember one guy or girl on a forum wrote that she had been to the ER 13 times. They had gotten used to seeing him/her.

We even have a thread here about this. I asked what solution people have found. Nobody has one. Try going for a 30 min walk when it happens.

I'm sorry the cardiologist didn't refer you to another specialist. This is not uncommon. Have you looked at the list of specialists here to see if someone is nearby who you could try to see?:

Fortunately you've had some work up already which has at least ruled out many serious problems.

Hi

I am in the UK it can be really hard to get a referral. I have finally managed to get a referral to London college autonomic clinic but it has taken many visits to my GP. I think it is all to do with the cost!

I too get pains in my chest really sharp stabbing a compiled by pins and needles which travels down my arm,all ECG were normal which has put my mind at ease however I when it happens it's unnerving

I hope it is ok to say on here I joined STARS a syncope charity which have a help line, when I was frightened and desperate they were really supportive and constructive
