Elscarl
Hi All, I'm new here and trying to get some more information on dysautonomia. Recently I have been having a bad flare up (low blood pressure, orthostatic hypotension, exercise intolerance, muscle fatigue, very dizzy and off balance all the time). On top of this, I have been having some strange symptoms that I've never had before. My left leg has a "crawling" sensation. It pretty much happens all the time besides when I'm lying down, which is why I think it's related to dysautonomia. I also have some nerve sensitivity. For instance, if I touch a specific spot on my finger, it shoots a nerve pain down that finger. I also have been occasionally getting a feeling of poor circulation in my arms (it feels like my arm is getting squeezed by a blood pressure cuff) My neurologist assured me it's from dysautonomia, but I'm wondering if others get these symptoms as well? Katybug
Neuropathy can be an underlying cause of dysautonomia. While I don't have neuropathy, what you describe is similar to what I've heard others describe here on the forum. Hopefully, others with this problem will chime in for you to help clarify. navyblue
I get EXACTLY that. Left leg. I wonder what it could be?
Elscarl
Navyblue- weird! The sensation is not painful for me, but it is very annoying and concerning. Sometimes it feels like a muscle twitch. Perhaps it is blood pooling? Do you have any of the other symptoms I described, like poor circulation feeling or nerve feelings? I see an autonomic specialist and he refuses to even see me. He's insisting its just from Dysautonomia and wants me to try IV infusions. I've gone once so far and it has only helped the dizziness. navyblue
Yup, sort of like ants crawling. I dunno, sometimes I do feel like way too much blood got in my foot and it sorts of vibrates in a pulsating way. But that's a different sensation, although could be related. If cold feet in perfectly normal temperatures is poor circulation, then yes on that. IV infusions of what?
Elscarl
IV infusions of saline. Sometimes I get B vitamins added as well. It's supposed to help to raise BP a bit and increase blood volume, I think.
