ccaldwell
Hi everyone! I am new to this website but not new to POTS. I started passing out in the second grade and was diagnosed with POTS when I was 20 years old. I am now 26 and still struggle everyday. I'm not nearly as bad as I use to be but I still have my daily issues. The biggest problem I've has the past couple of years is not being able to relate to someone with POTS or any type of Dysautonomia. I wanted so desperately to meet someone that has the same problems that I have. When I was looking up dysautonomia support groups online I came across the international dysautonomia conference is Washington DC. That was this past weekend I was able to attend it. It was the most AMAZING experience. There are no words that can describe how happy I was to be surrounded by people that understand how I feel everyday and the struggles that I face daily. Going to this conference made me realize how important it is for all of us to connect and learn from each other. I live in a area that doesn't know anything about dysautonomia and POTS. I want to form some kind of support group in the area and eventually have a walk or some kind of event to raise awareness. If anyone lives in Delaware or Maryland on the eastern shore or know anybody that does let me know. Spread the word!!! We need to stick together and raise awareness together!!!
