Science girl
So I just read about some new Belgium research about how the female X chromosome is connected to women having a strong immune system. Maybe this also explains why we get POTS more...mast cell problems and autoimmunity are both problems with a over activity immune system and both are implicated in the development of POTS. story
Hi. I also believe it's evolutionary. A woman's immune system is highly complex compared to a mans. The reason, when pregnancy occurs their bodies must not reject the embryo as a foreign invader. But, in a sense it is. This ultimately plays a role in why women develop more autoimmune disorders lupus, sjogrens etc. They're highly tuned and their immune systems are just more complicated. Men are simple. :-)
