Goschi
Has anyone been diagnosed with POTS caused by Paraneoplastic Syndrome or Carcinoid? If so, is there a specific type of POTS that would point to an underlining paraneoplastic / carcinoid cause?I have Hyper POTS and some Docs (not the POTS experts) have suggested a paraneoplastic cause, yet all tests came back negative. Hope you all have a good day today!!

looneymom
My son also had the paraneoplastic testing and it also came back negative. However, his antibodies showed up in the Cunningham Panel Test. However, these brain antibodies are being caused by other things besides PANDAS. Research has revealed these antibodies can show up with Lyme and Mycoplasma P. My son has high viral levels of Mycoplasma P and the brain antibodies. Keep searching for your underlying cause. Feel free to PM.
amyksmith
I also had the full paraneoplastic panel of blood tests done because one neurologist was convinced that was the only explanation. All mine came back negative. If there's a question, have them do the blood tests.
Goschi
Thanks for all the replies and the PMs!! I had the full paraneoplastic panel done and everything came back negative. It was mostly my severe flushing episodes (they always last for a long time after being upright for just a couple of minutes) that lead to the testing. I was tested for mcad too, again negative. So the flushing seems to be "normal pots"...
