MomtoGiuliana
I don't know the answer to your question, except that I think I have learned over the years on this forum that everyone is unique, when it comes to POTS. It's very hard to generalize about much of anything! I don't know that I "acquired" POTS in pregnancy. Looking back I had occasional, fairly mild POTS symptoms prior to pregnancy. But I became very sick w POTS during pregnancy--disabled in the last two months of pregnancy and also postpartum. I am "recovered"--it took about a year for me to be recovered well enough to return to work. Following that time I have had episodes of relapse--but most have been very short-lived. misstraci
I didn't acquire pots during pregnancy but after delivery. That was almost 4 yrs ago now. I still feel terrible BUT I have hope that things will eventually get better. I Just got to figure it all out!!!Did yours begin during pregnancy? How long have you been not well? I hope we all find some answers that will work best for each of us.

DADofPotsSon
My Grandmother described to me what sounded like POTS that she experienced immediately after my father was born, her age was about 39. She described syncope events in detail, said she had severe anemia, and may other issues similarly described as in POTS, She also mentioned that her mother came to live with Her and helped her raise the children. I can remember asking her what resolved the problems and she said she knew immediately when she became pregnant again at age 44 because all her illness problems disappeared. This pregnancy led to my Uncle. Grandma had what appears to have been HEDS. She described many other problems and that her mother had the same EDS issues, mostly dislocations, soft younger looking skin and frozen shoulder joints. My Dad clearly has HEDS/OI/Syncope with a crossover of Classic symptoms, and my Son#2 has a university hospital diagnoses of HEDS/NCS/POTS due to inheritance through me from Dad.....I hope this helps!DADofPotsSon
ramakentesh
Dont be fooled by random comments made by unknown people on wikipedia or random comments in some studies. The outcome of POTS in various patient groups and subdivisions based on primary etiology are completely unknown and unmeasured. There are no proper longtitudal studies. Remission is completely possible and Ive been told that spontaneous remission is definately possible.Over the years (ive had relapsing pots since 2003) ive noted that the patients that get POTS out of the blue and have one long bout that lasts two to five years seems to recover the best. the others are either sick all the time and variable or like me and relapse/remit with periods of almost complete wellness in between.
