Treatment Options.......

I read most of the threads and it seems there is no answer, no treatment, no medicine that really works real well. I go to the hospital every 3 weeks for plasmapheris treatments and they don't do a whole lot to help other than cost me a ton as I have a 80/20 policy.

So this is my rant...... Am I just wasting my time as there is no real treatment or cure ? As nothing works on my symptoms other than trying to avoid all the triggers which I'm pretty good at ? Just seems like I waste alot of time with specialists and never get anywhere so I spend time worrying about it.

I have found 1 thing that alleviates my fatigue issues. I'm not sure I'm ok discussing this on this forum but I'm sure they'll tell me. When my symptoms get bad, I will smoke a small amount of marijuana. Now to be clear I started this about 5 months ago, and my neurologist is against this. I don't mean I smoke enough to get loopy by any stretch, just enough to relax my body. My internist is the person that suggested it this after showing me links to smoking and the autonomic nervous system. Has anyone else found this helpful ? I'm not recommending this or condoning it, it's just something that I have found takes me from wanting to jump out of my skin and off the roof to being able to function somewhat normally.

Marijuana often causes orthostatic hypotension and tachycardia in typically healthy people so it likely would hurt rather than help a lot of people on this forum. I'm not sure what all of your symptoms are but there are a good number of treatment options to help with dysautonomia. Exercise has made a world of difference for me along with beta blockers and diet changes.

Confused guy,

I know there have been a couple of people in past threads that have mentioned that marijuana has given them some temporary relief. I really can't speak to the medical pros or cons.

As for effective treatment, many of us are better off now than we were without the various treatments we use. And please remember that those of us (at least most of us) that are still utilizing this and other pots forums are not the majority. Statistically, most pots patients recover over time and or find treatments that allow them to return to relatively normal life.
