Waking Up With A Numb Face?

Recommended Posts

Not my whole face, but in spots it can be numb. I've had MRI's and CAT scans, I don't think I have a Chiari. I think for me it's just a circulation problem. I wake up with other parts of my body numb too. Of course it comes when my other symptoms are worse.

I have tingling and numbness on my hands face head. Especially my lips checks. I just assumed it was lack of 02. Or medicine side effect? Also I have noticed that any part of my body will (fall asleep) way way faster than normal. I mean you know when you get pins and needles from sitting weird or whatever. I get this very very easily. It's very annoying :)

I get this a lot and figured it was likely the MCAS and EDS.....but my autonomic specialist said chronic dehydration and salt loss could also be the cause...... haven't really figured it out yet.....I know its not life threatening but its sure is annoying! Now I have started getting numbness and pins and needles in my fingertips :(

Akgirl/lissy. I had one neuro tell me my face numbness was due to migraine. Personally, I do not really buy it. Only because my face was on and off tingle and numb during the day for 2 months! I doubt I had that many migraines. I often wonder what I have. Kind off gave up searching.

Agreeky

I remember you saying that you get muscle spams on your toung and everywhere. Have you ever tried magnesium? How are your potassium levels and vitamin d?

Because I started taking magnesium and it helped immensely! I still have some spasms but not as bad as before. I also had them on my toung like you, I dont anymore.

Btw, I would NEVER wait for doctors to give me ALL the results. I have experienced going to doctor's offices and them telling me everything came back 100% perfect, then.... when I actually ASK for my records, its a completely different story. High cholesterol, low potassium, low vitamin d. I have learned to ask for all my papers and disks.

I also read that low magnesium causes low potassium. Any slight electrolyte imbalance can cause a domino affect, since they are all correlated. I also learned that calcium is actually an electrolyte! :-O
