Guest Hanice Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 Cocoa and nutmeg milk.. Lots of it. I recomend staying away from chocolate and nutmeg guys! I was at the hospital for two days because of they couldnt lower my takychardia even when laying. I drank lots of it on an empty stomach before going for a walk (which I was able to do everyday before this incident) thankfully I didnt take my babies with me that day. I took my bp at publix because I was feeling like butt and my bpm were at 110 which had never happened to me. And then I sat down outside on the benches because I felt horrible, I went to tell the cop outside to call the ambulance for me, and when I finally stood up I walk a couple steps before I almost colapsed on the cop. I put me head on the cops chest and I had my husband on the phone while this all was happening and I told him that I didnt think I was going to make it that I love him and our kids and then I heard the cop (and the guy he was talking to) saying "she's real pale" but I swear I heard it from out of my body, like I was over them. Then in the hosital They thought I was anxious because I was a bit jittery and they gave me a bunch of anti anxiety medications thinking they would lower my bpm and ofcoarse didnt do a thing until they tried a beta blocker which lowered my numbers to about 100 which they considered "normal" then the doc came in ready to discharge me and I said "please doctor isnt there anyrhing else you can do? I feel real bad and I cant go home like this." He said "nope" then I asked him if he could stay there and watch what happens on the ekg when I stand up and he said yes.... It instantly went upto 140 and he was like "okay, you just gave ne a reason to keep you in for observation" then the following morning I met with the electrophysiologist and he was very nice and he told me it was pots and that I was going to be okay and to take salt tablet and eat lots of salt. This was it! I finally got diagnosed! After almost two whole years of going to doctors and 6 cardiologists and a neurologist. I finally got diagnosed with what I already knew I had.. POTS But..... now I have the question of WHY? Why do I HAVE pots???? So Im now waiting on two 24hr urine results hoping to find my answer before my symtpoms get even worst. So back to chocolate and nutmeg, no no no to choco for me! Quote
issie Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 http://www.drweil.com/drw/u/QAA400873/Getting-High-on-Nutmeg.htmlChocolate is also high in glutamate which is an excitotoxin. I thought that nutmeg was high in it too - but, wasn't able to find confirming reports of that. You imbalanced your GABA/Glutamate balance and with the nutmeg being a psychedelic drug and the heart rate hike that occurs with both with tachycardia ---it's no doubt why what happened to you did. That out of body feeling likely was from the nutmeg and the combination and lots of it ---was enough to do you in. You were "stoned". I guess what was written in the above link is true ---one wouldn't try that again. Hope you feel better soon.Issie Quote
Guest Hanice Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 If you mean stoned as in stoned to death with rocks then yes.. I was super stoned. There's an ingredient in nutmeg that gives taky. I guess since I already had pots when I drank that it hit me doubly. The nutmeg wasn't thaaaaat srong. I guess we have to read/google the side effects to natural things too when you have pots because anything can throw you for a spin! =·.·= Quote
