cberau Posted June 23, 2013 Report Posted June 23, 2013 I haven't really dreamed much at all,or at least remembered any of my dreams since pots came into my life. Quote
westernmass Posted June 23, 2013 Report Posted June 23, 2013 I have always had and continue to have lots of very vivid dreams. I've also always been a poor sleeper, and that has been worse since pots. Quote
TCP Posted June 23, 2013 Report Posted June 23, 2013 Very vivid dreams followed by sudden waking and rapid heart/sweating/sickness/dizziness and gut spasm. All linked to sleep disorder linked to Auto Dysfunction. Quote
lejones1 Posted June 23, 2013 Report Posted June 23, 2013 I seem to dream a lot more since I've had POTS (or I guess remember it more). I rarely remembered my dreams before but now I usually remember a couple a night. The only exception to this is during "crashes" - they usually last a few days and during the first night I wake up every hour or so and I don't think I dream at all. Quote
margiebee Posted June 23, 2013 Report Posted June 23, 2013 I actually have had night terrors for my whole life (since I was a toddler), where I have extremely vivid dreams and I start thrashing around and screaming. But when my POTS symptoms are bad I do not get them at all. I think that when my symptoms are bad I don't fall into a deep sleep. Quote
blueskies Posted June 24, 2013 Report Posted June 24, 2013 When I wake up with a migraine I can remember the dream I had before -- it's always a nightmare of some kind. I have more bad dreams (dreams of frustration -- big surprise -- not) than good dreams. When I wake up after a good dream I feel so good mentally. Physically, I often feel better after a good dream. there seems to be a connection. blue Quote
TCP Posted June 24, 2013 Report Posted June 24, 2013 Margiebee....I also act out my dreams and I also get sleep apnoea and paralysis. I'm just going through checks for all of these again. Quote
trice125 Posted June 24, 2013 Report Posted June 24, 2013 I do when I actually get into a deep sleep. Quote
jknh9 Posted June 25, 2013 Report Posted June 25, 2013 I have super vivid dreams and I often have nightmares. I tend to feel worse the day after I have particularly bad nightmares. Quote
dpeeps Posted June 25, 2013 Report Posted June 25, 2013 I grew up with night terrors, but somewhere in my 30's they stopped and I stopped dreaming altogether. After POTS dx, I started taking magnesium to see if it would help my headaches. The dreams returned.... some good, some not so good. However, I have not seen any correlation with relief of POTs symptoms (other than lessoning the headaches). I go to sleep tired, wake up about every hour and finally when I get up in the morning, I am not rested at all and feel worse than when I went to bed. When I try to nap during the day, I generally awaken with heart racing, nauseous and a feeling of impending doom. There is simply no refreshing sleep.... *sigh* Quote
Goschi Posted March 31, 2014 Report Posted March 31, 2014 I do dream most nights, sometimes good (=funny things!), sometimes not so good. Sleep itsself feels not so bad, at times I even dream that I sleep well! However, when I wake up in the morning, I always feel like I didn't have a refreshing sleep at all. Quote
IceLizard Posted March 31, 2014 Report Posted March 31, 2014 I have vivid dreams, night sweats usually accompany them. I also have night terrors where I will jolt up in bed or cry out. On a few occasions I have actually injured myself during night terror attacks when I jump out of the bed. I am fully asleep when this happens. Sometimes I do have pleasant dreams though and sleep well during these times. Quote
little_blue_jay Posted April 1, 2014 Report Posted April 1, 2014 I don't remember my dreams. Sometimes I wake up thinking "that was a strange dream" but I don't remember a single detail of what it was!!! I have researched since last summer something called "Pyroluria" (I think I have/had it) and one prominent sign is poor to no dream recall. Quote
Freaked Posted April 1, 2014 Report Posted April 1, 2014 Whether you remember dreams or not depends on how broken your sleep is usually. If you keep waking up and falling back asleep, you're more likely to remember dreams. Quote
MarkA Posted April 15, 2014 Report Posted April 15, 2014 I to have vivid dreams and nightmares occasionally which trigger my fight or flight reflex and usually wake me. My dreams returned when I got my CPAP for my Sleep Apnea. Quote
imre Posted April 17, 2014 Report Posted April 17, 2014 Dreaming means rem sleep which causes increased heart rate, for us this may trigger other symptoms hence the waking up this happens to me almost every night especially when I am stressed. It ***** but just another thing we have to deal with. Quote
