davecom Posted June 15, 2013 Report Posted June 15, 2013 When I get up and walk. Every time my right hand/arm turns red while my left hand/arm stays white. Does anyone else experience this? Is it possible that my small fiber neuropathy is one sided, or is this related to something else? This is the same arm (right) that I have had some small patches of skin changes since the POTS started (biopsy came back as spongiosis of unknown origin - ie eczema). Quote
E Soskis Posted June 15, 2013 Report Posted June 15, 2013 I too have had one side of my body turn red and flushed while the other side remained a blanched white color. - particularly in my legs. When I queried the neurologist about it he said that with autonomic failure, it is not uncommon to see strange nervous system reactions - it all depends upon which part of the nervous system is messing up at the time - he also said that Raynaud's will cause some skin disturbances like this. TCP Posted June 16, 2013 Report Posted June 16, 2013 Both sides flush but the left side has always been worst affected I often get flushing up my chest and neck and left ear, but that has settled since I've been on the beta-blocker. My left hand, foot and limbs are worst on my left side. When the neuropathy flared up my left foot went blue and numb, but luckily the feeling came back over the course of a few weeks. In the bath my left leg is always yellowy but my right is pinker, although I am having more trouble with my right ankle and knee now. It's the nerves and circulation...best advice is to keep moving and get the blood flowing to keep the nerves alive. Quote
