deucykub Posted March 11, 2013 Report Posted March 11, 2013 Hi! I just moved back to Florida so that I can be closer to family for help with my POTS symptoms. I was seeing Dr. Kluger in CT, who is fantastic. I'm looking for a treating specialist near Merritt Island FL. I've checked the physicians page. It would be more cost and time effective for me to travel back and forth to CT than to travel to Pensacola. Jacksonville is a possibility, but before braving the Mayo web of doctors, I was hoping someone here might have some suggestions. (My search of old posts had brought up nada, but I'm nothing if not an optimist! )Thanks for your help! Quote
Kellysavedbygrace Posted March 11, 2013 Report Posted March 11, 2013 Hi I live in the Tampa Bay area and I travel to Pensacola for my POTS doc and Charleston for my MCAD doc. Randy Thompson in Pensacola is the only Dysautonomia doc I could recommend in FL. That said, Nancy Klimas is in Miami not too far south from you. She is a CFS/ME researcher who is quite familiar with POTS and does all sorts of specialized immunology testing. Last time I checked she did not take insurance and it was a bit pricey to have the testing done but she might be someone else to consider especially since fatigue is in your signature line and she is just a short drive away.Best to you. Mytwogirlsrox Posted March 11, 2013 Report Posted March 11, 2013 I was diagnosed @ Florida Hospital Tampa (formerly university hospital I think) i don't think I would consider then specialists but they knew enough to diagnose me! Quote
YolaInBlue Posted March 11, 2013 Report Posted March 11, 2013 I was diagnosed in FL Hospital Altamonte, but haven't found a specialist to treat me in central FL. I went to Dr. Thompson in Pensacola and a 7-hour drive was worth it. I can't really recommend anyone else. Quote
Loulou Posted July 15, 2013 Report Posted July 15, 2013 I was diagnosed by Dr Reiders in Lady Lake fl.He is a cardiologist. He knows a little about pots and was talking about doing a study just before I moved to Panama City Beach FL. I now drive to Pensacola FLto see Dr Randy Thompson, he has pots himself and is great. It is worth the ride for me. I drive right at three hours with having to stop for a bathroom often. Quote
Guest Hanice Posted July 15, 2013 Report Posted July 15, 2013 Does anyone know a good pots doctor in Miami? Quote
