boymommy3
I am just wondering if any other POTSies have ever experienced excessive yawning? I don't do it much anymore, but I use to A LOT! It was like once I got started I just could not stop.I just read that that can be a symptom of MAS and, honestly, it made me freak out a little. I don't really know anything about that but just saw that is was fatal. Also because when I am symptomatic, I have lots of muscle issues. They twitch like crazy, but also feel very tight and stiff sometimes.Have any of you ever experienced this???
rach73
Hi,When I worked I used to terrible about an hour after my lunch break. I would yawn so much it would be a struggle to speak. Now I know that its caused by my blood pressure dropping and not just after a meal as soon as the yawning starts I lie down! Just saying or reading the word yawn makes me do it lol! Also since leaving work I have drastically upped my fluid in take and that seems to stop the yawning attacks!Rach
cyndi75rose
Omg. I get this all the time. Drives me nuts. Like big crocodile yawns. Like I can't control, one right after the other. I get it a couple times a a day and I guess I never thought it could be related to they dysautonomia. Hmm? Good question.
corina
Yawning is one of my major symptoms and I always feel awful when the yawning starts. Since I'm on octreotide it's more or less in control but as soon as the octreotide stops working I'm yawning like mad again. I've been told to try avoid the yawning (can't remember why exactly). For me it's part of the dysautonomia and though it doesn't look serious at first sight I know that I'm in trouble when it starts.
boymommy3
I am so glad to hear that I'm not the only one. Like I said, it hasn't happened in a while, and actually I can remember that being present when other POTS symptoms weren't, but it is the strangest thing when it happens. Bub
Just found this from 8 years ago by doing a Google! I have dysautonomia which is said to be part of M.E./chronic fatigue. I yawn about 8-10 times in 5 minutes when I first get up every morning. Loud noisy yawns!
