bizbiz
Hi all,During my first crash, I didn't really have many GI symptoms apart from loss of appetite which gradually got better. However with this second crash, my appetite hasn't really returned, I get full quickly after small meals, have no desire for anything sweet (I usually have a crazy sweet tooth), have terrible acid reflux even though I am on Nexium, and seem to be losing weight from not eating much. While I do get a little hungry if I skip a meal, the only time I really want to eat is late at night when all of my other symptoms are better, but I don't because I don't want to eat and then lay down to sleep making reflux worse.Does this sound like typical gastroparesis? Something POTS related? I have also started having a burning stomach type feeling (which I'm attributing to the acid reflux from hardly eating when I initially crashed) but I stupidly googled my symptoms and all sorts of GI cancers came up and now I am very worried :-/I have a scope booked for next week and worried about what they will find and how my body will handle the anesthetic. k&ajsmom
Hi, Im sorry ur feeling so poorly. WHen I first got really sick I googled my symptoms, and web md said I had Parvo hahahaha wont do that again...lolanyways , I lost about 35 lbs from nausea, diarhea, churning, gnawing pain and cramping (along with the other lovely pots symptoms) At first the doc said I had crohns....nope. I had a colonoscopy while I was admitted for my cardiac and bp issues and it was normal. I havent gotten to the bottom of my Pots causes and stomach issues yet but I can say I think its all related. I know alot of people on here have gi motility issues one way or the other so sadly I think its normal. My gi symptoms wax and wane but never really get better. I use vinegar and probiotic for the nausea and it helps a little, enough to stop the weight loss anyways. I also hvae to take immodium and zantac to be able to eat. I still liv ein the bathroom but atleats it helps a little. I hope we both can find a reason...sooner rather than later. Ive been wondering if mine is caused my abdominal pooling since my legs dont seem to pool yet I feel the blood leave my chest when I stand??ugh anyways good luck and sorry I dont have an good advice, just your not alone on this one. Take care -sarah

puppylove
Stomach issues have been my main problem for two years now. I have a lot of the same symptoms as you. I was tested for gastroparesis which was negative. I have had a stomach ulcer and I have GERD. Sadly I haven't found anything that helps significantly yet, but I think it's normal for potsies to have these symptoms.
jackiemxoxo
I think your symptoms are related to the dysautonomia, they sound very familiar. I had gastroparesis 3 years ago but have since recovered. I still battle with GI symptoms and the burning sensation is really painful sometimes. I think it is related to acid overproduction and it helps to take zantac or something that protects your stomach. Especially if you are not eating much. Sometimes I take mylanta to help with immediate pain. When I had an endoscopy it showed bad gastritis and hiatal hernia. I think protecting your stomach from the acid is key to helping it heal and your appetite might possibly return more then. And hopefully they will check you for H.pylori during the endoscopy just in case you have it so it can be treated.
