Of course there is. Pots is so broad, it can be chronic or it can be secondary to something causing it. So if whatever is casuing it goes away or gets treated or better...its poss Pots can resolve. Some people expierence it and it goes away and they never know why. I hope for all of us it can go away. Dont give up that fight u have to get to the bottom of it. =) take care

I sure hope there is a diagnosis to "cure"

I was diagnosed in august, spent 21 days in the hospital. And after all that time, by deduction of everything else.A POTS dx was done. Nothing else, just meds. And then said play with the dosages. I am currently awaiting a transfer to a specialist. 2 hours away! Oh well, if he can figure just to get me to stop feeling like crappy, would be fantastic!

Achilles, most people who get better leave this board. Now and then someone comes back to let us know they are doing well which is always a bonus. Give yourself some more time, to keep yourself sane :) Some get "better" through medication, others get better through time! My doctors haven't been able to figure out why I have this (I think they wouldn't know how to) also but gave me the opportunity to try different meds. Are you on any medication right now?

Getting better is usually a slow process with this condition. The literature claims that most people do recover. Keep in mind as corina says that most people who are well are not on DINET. I got better over years. At one time I took an SSRI which helped a lot. I still take a small dose of beta blocker. Most of the time I am 90%+. Rarely I have relapses. But overall I live a normal, active life. In 2002-2003 I was bedridden.

I also got better with time and trying a few meds. Based on my symptoms the meds that worked for me were hydrocortisone, prilosec (I think I needed to tolerate the HC), and midrodine. It took a year. This is my second and worst flare. The first flare lasted a few weeks and was totally gone in about 6-9 months. This flare I was bedridden for about a month, finally figured out what was wrong with me and began to treat. It took a full year to get to 90-95% better. I was functioning by March/April but still feeling bad. By September I started to have more good days than bad. Another big reason I think I got better is that I halted all blood work by March. Too much blood work was causing so many symptoms for me and I had already been medically cleared of all the 'bad' stuff. So I decided to stop looking for a little while as I was pretty sure I was a POTs candidate. Good luck with your recovery ~ it can happen.

Achilles-- anything is possible.

I can't speak for anyone else, because everyone's pots is seemingly different. BUT, I slowly (over 9 months) recovered greatly. Reducing stress, hydrating, increasing salt, taking supplements, increasing exercise. A SSRI really helped me in the beginning. It's been a year since my symptoms began, and honestly I feel so much better. I function at 98%, I would say that I still have a little anxiety and feel palpitations upon standing, or in situations. Dr said I might have a mild case of orthostatic hypotension ( still get fuzzy vision if I stand up too fast -- I've always had this though)

Anyways. Always have hope! It just takes time.. There are studies that say most POTS patients will have improvement within on year of diagnosis. I think in time, you will find what works for your body and you will improve.

I have pots and have had symptoms of it my entire life. I was not diagnosed until last fall, however, I have gotten a lot better at managing it. It was very debilitating last fall. My doctor does not think mine will ever completely go away, however, I have been working with her to manage the symptoms. That is a blessing in itselt; being able to manage it and live with it. You just have to achieve balance, and be very aware of what causes symptoms to flare. I wish you the best of luck! Don't give up!
