icesktr189 Posted November 20, 2012 Report Posted November 20, 2012 I know quite a few members wanted to know the process length. I got a letter from my lawyer todaythat says my hearing is January 10th. I appealed reconsideratom on January 13 of this year, so it's almost exactly a year. They said I would recurve a decision around March/April. Quote
icesktr189 Posted November 20, 2012 Author Report Posted November 20, 2012 Ugh sorry for all the typos....between my phone and tablet, I can't win! Quote
HopeSprings Posted November 20, 2012 Report Posted November 20, 2012 Wow, finally! Curious - what kind of advice has your attorney given you in order to prepare? Also, did they try to get you approved on the record? Good luck, hope you get approved. Quote
icesktr189 Posted November 20, 2012 Author Report Posted November 20, 2012 I tried to get approved on the record, but i guess its really hard if you are under 55. I still have a chance until my hearing, but im not holding my breath lol. I am going to meet with my lawyer next month in person and he is giving me some video to watch...not sure whats on it. I am def. not trying to get my hopes up,but i just might have a stroke if im denied haha Quote
Katybug Posted November 21, 2012 Report Posted November 21, 2012 Dani - The title of this post made me laugh....the word "trial" totally reminded me of a "criminal " hearing and that's exactly how I feel going through this Social Security process. Thanks for the chuckle. I keep trying to find the humor when and where ever I can. Quote
icesktr189 Posted November 21, 2012 Author Report Posted November 21, 2012 ugh it is a slow horrible thing! Criminals get their trials faster than disabled people do! What is really upsetting is going through a two year process, just to. recieve a denial Quote
