looneymom
At least every month or every other month my 12 year old son wakes up with a rash on his face. He has been tested for lupus and it's negative. The rash appears on one side of his nose with raised red bumps in a swirly line.Sometimes there is also a line that outlines the rash with the rashed bumps inside. Whenever this rash appears, my son has more trouble with his vocal tic, shaking, termors legs and complains he hurts more. Is this a flare of POTS or is the rash an indication of an underlying disorder? He woke up very sweaty this morning with this rash and has had a rough day. Also wonder if this has anything to do with adrenal system?
kclynn
For the first couple years my son often woke up in a total sweat (change clothes and bed sheets kind of sweat) and very flushed. He would also feel exceptionally weak and also have tons of tics as he was recovering. Would the rash be a type of flushing? I pm'd you
lumpchp
Is it painful, or itchy? I would say it sounds like shingles, I know he is young, but it could happen. For me, I started getting shingles at 19... And now its once or twice a year, brought on by heat or stress. When I get the rash, I'm achy all over, sometimes run a fever, , and way more symptomatic as far as dysautonomia stuff. and it usually goes away in a few days. Doc always tells me it is a very atypical presentation...
Katybug
Is it possible he has Lyme disease or a Lyme coinfection such as Bartonella which can also produce rashes and neurological symptoms? Also I encourage you to take pictures every time this occurs. The pics I started taking about a yr ago have been invaluable since I can then show the docs even if the rash is gone.
