Guest maia
I just found something that had bells going off with me. My pots is flaring up and i cant stop peeing. i was looking around and found something about a hormone called ADH and in looking further i found this: http://www.research.va.gov/news/research_highlights/heart-hormones-042508.cfm#.UGRkCiM9BsQthis bit is what really startled me:Vesely later discovered three more hormones that are produced from the same gene as ANF: long acting natriuretic peptide, which also stimulates urine production and sodium excretion; vessel dilator, which opens the blood vessels and lowers blood pressure; and kaliuretic peptide, which increases potassium excretion.dont we all usually need to salt load, retain fluid, vasodilate, keep our blood pressures in check?! Guest maia
Ive written to this research physician and had a very positive reply. It seems this is something worth discussing with your cardiologists. Im certainly going to! Ive also been poking around more and found relations with these hormones to prolactin, aldosterone, and thyroid -production and inhibition... very interesting!Could someone let me know who the major pots researchers are, I have some information i would like to forward? Kellysavedbygrace
Right now in the US I'm seeing 3 docs who are consistently putting out research. There are often lots of other docs listed but these 3 tend to be involved:Dr. David Robertson, MD - Vanderbilt. (also lead author on the Primer of the Autonomic Nervous System, Medical textbook.)Dr. Phillip Low, MD. - Mayo, MN. (I was told at Cleveland Clinic he is also known as the "father of POTS" as he coined the name)Dr. Juillian Stewart, MD - NYU. There are many on this forum more knowledgable than me so I hope they'll add their input too.
