Leg Pain At Night??

Recommended Posts

So here I am again... Yet another night of leg pain. I used to believe it was related to my many food intolerances but my diet has been clean for a while (unless I have more trigger foods!?). So anyway, how many of you deal with leg pain at night? I suspect mine is from the blood pooling in my legs all day or nerve damage of some sort. It feels like it hurts down at the bone. It is not a muscular pain. My husband will rub/squeeze them for me and that seems to help them feel better to some degree. Why do you all think?

bone pain/joint pain is one of my biggest problems also right now.....I totally sympathize :( my legs ache so bad I want to rip them off! I have had all of vitamin levels checked and they are normal....my specialist thinks its MCAS and neuropathy related.....I find if it is really bad I take some benadryl and 1/2 tablet of ativan to help.

I really think mine might be related to MCAS as well but I haven't yet tried the H1/H2 blocker combo yet. I really need to try that. That would be so great if I could get some relief from benedryl. Sorry you have to deal with this too but it is so nice to hear that I am not alone.

Well, reading all the replies, I've had neuritis after a virus, where I could hardly sleep, but I have also had the muscle to bone pain you describe, and that was directly related to my deficiency to vitamin D3, so I agree with McBlonde. It's a whole lot better since I've been on increased doses. I would suggest asking your doctor to getting your D3 and B12 checked, too.

Do you only get it when you lie down at night, especially if you've been on your feet a lot? Does it feel like your legs and feet are vibrating, tingling or burning? Or is there numb spots? That can be a sign of peripheral neuropathy. The test is a skin biopsy for small fiber neuropathy. I have an autoimmune version of it and I also have cvid and I am on IVIG to replace the immunoglobulins. This is one of my symptoms that has almost completely subsided since I started IVIG, that and my pms symptoms are a lot better, I've also had improvement in my hr/bp, that has not completely corrected yet. I had forgotten I used to have this until your post.

Yes, yes, exactly! I've been dealing with this for years. It prevents me from sleeping, sometimes wakes me out of my sleep. It rarely hurts during the day. My right leg was so bad the last two weeks I broke down and went to my Doctor - he sent me for a bunch of x-rays and an ultrasound of the veins? - all was negative. I've resorted to using Lidocaine pain patches, which don't even help that much. I also have the burning in my feet at night. I have small fiber neuropathy which explains the burning, but not sure it explains the leg pain. It does seem worse in the summer which makes me think it has to do with pooling/veins, but who knows for sure. Have you been evaluated for neuropathy?

I get this, too! I have gotten this pain since I was a teen, it almost feels like it's poor circulation or something...when I was younger I thought I might have had a blood clot or something(though I never told my parents about it). Mine get worse when I lay down, and sometimes it feels like they are going numb. It mostly happens in my right side.

My legs never relax at night. I am constantly tight to the point that if I dont stretch, do Yoga and get massage therapy it wreaks havoc on my hips and back. I thought after I got my CPAP I would sleep deep enough they would unwind, no such luck. I too have the strange sensations and feelings in them. I side sleep alot too which is hard on the arms shoulders and hips. I wish I could find something to get them to unwind and loosen up.
