misstraci Posted May 27, 2012 Report Posted May 27, 2012 Someone pointed out to me today (because I had shorts on and apparently don't check out my own legs too often) that I had multiple big bruises on both my legs. What could this mean? I don't remember hitting myself or running into anything. In the past, I've noticed bruises on my legs for no reason too but this time they are big and dark. I thought it meant blood clots or something. Is this true? Quote
tinkerbella Posted May 28, 2012 Report Posted May 28, 2012 I know I have them all the time from bumping into things and my white count is always low. Bruising easily anemia, been this way my whole life. My doc is going to run another batch of tests next month as it continues to get worse. Quote
Katybug Posted May 28, 2012 Report Posted May 28, 2012 There are quite a few things that can cause easy bruising such as anemia, various meds including things like aspirin and tylenol, EDS and other connective tissue diseases etc. It is something you should mention to your doc when you see them next. Also, I recommend with something like this that you can photograph and that may or may not be there when you see the doc, to take pictures of the bruises when you have them, then, you can show the doc no matter what. Katybug Posted May 28, 2012 Report Posted May 28, 2012 Oh, I forgot, there are also some vitamin deficiencies that can cause easy bruising as well...I know Vit D deficiency is one and there are others. Quote
misstraci Posted May 28, 2012 Author Report Posted May 28, 2012 Thanks Bella and Katy! I didn't think about the anemia and other vitamin deficiencies. And taking pics of them is a good idea, i didn't even think about that , thank you Quote
