puppylove
I know a lot of Potsies get dizzy and feel sick in the shower. This weird thing has started happening though wether I take a shower or bath if the water is even remotely warm. My stomach and throat will start burning and I get so nauseaous that I can't even be on there for more than a minute which is not enough time. It feels like really bad GERD but medicines don't help. Any ideas? I don't like cold showers because I'm already usually freezing cold. And strangely sitting doesn't help one bit.
Katybug
It could just be the way you reacte to the warm water, but, it could also be a mast cell reaction. Have you ever been evaluated for mast cell disorders? It might not be a bad idea as I think I remember you also having pretty bad GI issues which can go long with MCAS. Christy_D
My son doesn't tolerate warm/hot water well either. It makes him feel sick, not dizzy. He was just diagnosed with MCAS. Perhaps look into the mast cell activation syndrome, many of the symptoms overlap.Christy
puppylove
I have never been tested for it, would my cardiologist do that?
Christy_D
We took my son to a specialist in South Carolina, Dr Afrin. He is an oncologist/hematologist. You need to see a doctor who has knowledge of it and testing. The doctors we saw before seeing the specialist did a urine test and blood test(tryptase serum) and dismissed MCAS since they came back negative. But those coming back negative does not rule out mcas.Dr Afrin said that the MCAS is the cause of my son's POTS, and some people are misdiagnosed with POTS when they actually have MCAS. bellgirl
I sometimes sit down in the shower. It's easy and quick .
