Folks, could use some encouragement today. Dr. has taken me off of Klonopin because it was making me dizzy and super fatigued. We've tapered super slow (my last dose was .0625 mg!!), and now I've been off for three days. I'm feeling super jittery, dizzy, hot and cold flashes, vomiting, and just horrible. I know this is only for a week or two, but it is hitting me on top of the Florinef headaches I have (which is the next taper). Good news is that my systolic pressure is up 10 pts (yeah!). Haven't been to work in a week and considering a leave of absence. Could use some positive words now to keep me trucking through.....thanks, all. :)

I can't relate to the Klonopin withdraw as I haven't ued it, but, I really hope you fel better soon. I have had to quit Florinef at different times, and, there is good news on that point...there is very little "withdraw" and it leaves your system relatively quickly so I am hoping that is going to be much easier on you. Keep your chin up.

I tapered off Klonopin about a year ago. I wound up taking a little crumb of a pill every few days to get me through. Maybe you could ask your doctor about that?

I was able to finally stop altogether when I got a bad cold. I was in bed feeling miserable anyway, so I figured it was a good time to deal with the Klonopin withdrawal. I think I was in bed for 2 or 3 days and didn't take any Klonopin durning that time. When I was well enough to get up I was also through the Klonopin withdrawal.

hi, i know what you are going through, i had to do the same with ativan.I withdrew cold turkey from 4 mg a day. It was like i had 15 cups of coffee on top of a panic attack over and over again. I'm pretty sure my heart is still running around the block. Remember, be strong, you can do it. All of those feelings you are having aren't real. They are just anxiety. They are your mind trying to get the drug. Try to stay calm, take a deep breath, take a warm shower, drink some chamomile tea, draw, watch tv, play a video game, call a friend. Try the best you can not to think about it. You have to keep in mind that this week is GOING to be a bad week. But once you pass this week, you are going to start heading out of the woods. Another thing to consider is that you are going to have to go through this eventually, so you don't want to lose your progress this far. I know it is hard, but you can do this, stay strong and take a deep breath.

Thanks, all for the support and words of encouragement. 3 days down, and yes, I'm trying to keep thinking....once I do this I won't have to do it again, so stick it out!! Think I might have to break out the Ms. Pac-Man!!

Hang in there! I have done this at least twice for testing. It is not beyond you!!! You made it without this med, and you will make it again! The last bit is the hardest to come off: Klonopin has a 36 hour half-life...so it is still in your system up to 36 hours after taking it. Be kind to yourself and don't push yourself too hard. Of all the pain/panic meds, Klonopin is one of the hardest to come off of, and you have already done it. Ride it out, but don't hesitate to call your doc if things turn "wonky." Just take one breath at a time if you have to!(((( :)))))))

The super slow taper is the kindest thing you could have done for your brain and your body. So happy to hear that. I went off cold turkey and it was a nightmare - I know how bad the symptoms can be. Hope your withdrawal is short and you feel better from this soon.
