jangle
Ok I've been legitimately trying to increased my salt and water intake but within seconds of drinking more, it just goes right back out of me. Does everyone else have this problem?
sue1234
Yes. A few years ago when I would be doing 24-hour urines, my total volume would be around 2000 ml. In the last year or two, they are consistently around 3100-3500 mls. I don't seem to hold onto anything.
mwise
I too have this problem along with urgency since I increased my fluid intake along with taking Mestinon & Midodrine. Lol I know all the bathrooms in town and on my way back and forth to work. I have learned to live with it including frequent bathroom stops. julieph85
yes, my urine is also around 3100 ml's for 24 hours, pee everything right out, and it is chrystal clear so I doubt i'm getting any benefit from drinking it..
puppylove
Yup. I hate long car rides for this reason!
ramakentesh
Only thing that slowed this down was florinef for me.
Katybug
Me, too. And on really bad flare days, its even worse...I can pee 3-4 times in an hour. I'm always thinking "Where is it coming from? I didn't have time to drink that much!" Similar to rama, florinef has helped, but, its still not back to my pre-POTS pattern. Lemons2lemonade
Florinef also helped me with this. Wonder if you are withdrawing jangle, from your prior trial. Also, giving myself a big hit of salt in the morning helped with this. I remember before I started taking florinef I was having too much salt and I think that was causing me to urinate more. Also, there are other electrolytes than just salt like potassium, which is important if you are urinating frequently. A banana or some o.j. can help put these back into your bod. Now whether or not they get absorbed is an entirely different question.
Elfie
I'm allergic to florinef and can't retain water to save my life--- it all hits my bladder within an hour of drinking and then I will be urinating sometimes 8-9 times an hour. Salt and electrolytes have no effect on this.
Schorobi
If you are allergic to florinef you might discuss ddAVP with your physician (one of the "things that help" on the dinet info page)
Elfie
Thanks Schorobi-- I'm going to talk to my doc again. He was originally concerned because I've had episodes he is convinced are CHF and kidney issues/scares-- it is something to reconsider since I'm almost a year out from those incidences.
