potsyturvy
Does anybody else randomly get a bright red nose? I have noticed that I get this when my POTS is flaring, when I'm super tired, or when it's winter and the heater is on indoors. Sometimes one of my ears will turn red too. It is also really hot to touch, but it doesn't itch or hurt or anything. I'm just curious if this is a POTS thing or if anyone else gets this! I feel like Rudolph!! lol
nunntrio
I have this as well and have always wondered about it. The tip of my nose turn bright red and honestly looks very silly. I have never noticed my ears. I assumed it was somehow related to my POTS but who knows.
songcanary
I get this as well. It used to be terrible before diagnosis. It's a little better now. Any sudden change in temperature will bring it on, as will alcohol, stress, certain foods, or sometimes it will just turn bright red for seemingly no reason at all! I can feel the heat and there it is. Very annoying for sure. I do have rosacea so that makes it all the more sensitive.
corina
i have a red nose and rosacea too. at pictures i'm the one with the rudolph nose, i try to camouflage it now and then but most of the time just forget. i've never thought of it as a "pots" thing, more to do with my skin which is quite dry and the rosacea of course! kmichaelson
My nose gets bright red when it's cold actually! I think that with Raynauds sometimes it can affect your nose the same way it affects hands and feet. My mom has the red cold nose too--we always joke about inventing a nose warmer! songcanary
Me too! I have had Reynaud's for decades but I never made a connection to the red nose. Just make it go away please .
janiedelite
I have Raynaud's and rosacea as well. My dermatologist recently started me on a topical doxycycline which helps a lot.
potsyturvy
I have Raynaud's, but not Rosacea. I usually think of it more as affecting my hands and feet when it's cold, but I guess I could see how it could make my nose change color with temperature change and stress. I always try to cover it with makeup, but it doesn't really work.
