Nicole's Mom
Hi. I was wondering if anyone knows of a "poem" about walking down the sidewalk and falling into a hole. And then walking down the same sidewalk again and falling in the same hole and it goes on a few times like this- walking and falling in the same hole and then eventually the person realizes that they could walk down a different street where there is no hole. I could really use this "poem" right now for "someone special" in my life if anyone knows it in its entirety. Thanks so much in advance to anyone who could provide it.Bev
Guest tearose
Autobiography In Five Short Chapters By Portia NelsonII walk down the street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.I fall in.I am lost..... I am helpless. It isn't my fault. It takes forever to find a way out.III walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.I pretend I don't see it.I fall in, again.I can't believe I am in this same place. But, it isn't my fault. It still takes a long time to get out.IIII walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.I see it is there.I still fall in.... it's a habit.... but, my eyes are open.I know where iI am.It is my fault.I get out immediately.IVI walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.I walk around it.VI walk down another street. Guest tearose
Hi Bev,I wanted to keep that separate so you could print it out easier than having to cut and paste.I am hoping this helps your "special someone".It is an incredible moment when we realize that we are able to make very powerful changes and choices in our life!We can all relate to the "hole concept" quite well!Hope your special someone, if there, will not be there long!Sending you warmest wishes, tearose

Guest tearose
You are welcome Bev!Actually Ernie, my dear girlfriend came to our forum sight to browse after I gave her a DINET bracelet as a gift just recently. She read my topic "stuck on a thorn" (from november?) and said she thought I would appreciate the poem. She gave it to me about 2 weeks ago I put in my NDRF handbook wondering if I'd ever share it here cause of the "hole" reference. Isn't it incredible how things work out like that! Life is amazing!take care, tearose
geneva
Tearose, that is truly an amazing coincidence. I think maybe we should "adopt" the poem for our group! Thanks for sharing.
